I finally got my legion stater box. I don't know how I want to paint them yet though. Any suggestions? I'm not a fan of the standard scheme. I've looked around but haven't found many schemes. Any suggestion is a good one.

What colors do you like? I suggest picking a base color first. This makes it much easier to pick out other, complementary, colors.
I've seen them painted where all their spines/bumps/protrusions were all painted in a bone-like color. I've seen that matched with black and the "suggested" purple.

I love like a forest green color. I have a space marine army that's a jungle green color. I wanna branch out though to broaden my painting skills. But again I love green.

So you might want to do a dark green for the armor sections and a lighter green for the fleshy sections.

See if there is a Tyranid scheme that you like. I know a lot of people who use nids as a base for their Legion.

Looks like it might have been a basecolor of snakebite leather that was repeatedly glazed with a thin green. So some yellow shows through the light green overcoat.
