I happened upon a picture of some Avenger flyers on DeviantArt titled "Imperial Domination" a moment ago, and it got me thinking, what would it be like to be on the receiving end of that overwelming force? I've found most novels concerning the Imperium putting down secessionists or the like seem to be strictly from the Imperial's perspective (and show the rebels to not have humanity's best interest's at hand). However, whilst this doesn't always paint them in a good light, it still gives the impression typically in the novels that the Imperials are ultimately doing the right thing. I'm looking for a story that either focuses on a guerrilla war, or preferably, something that at least fixates on the mindset of the rebels.

The subject was covered quite well in Henry Zou's Blood Gorgons novels (which shows two sides of the coin, the rebellion resulting from the Imperial's harsh treatment of the locals), but I'm looking for some more stories that touch upon the thoughts of those that are falling under the boot of the Imperium (not the guys wearing the boots). Admittedly this is probably not the easiest topic to find a novel on (much easier to write pulp fiction about gunning down the filthy heretics), but if anyone knows of anything decent along these lines it'd be appreciated. =)

There are partisans in Traitor General. The world gets invaded by Chaos so they team up with the Imperials to fight a guerilla war. That's pretty much it though iirc.
