An Eldar Dire Avenger Exarch can take a power weapon and shimmershield-a popular option for CC Avengers if people want to take them. The power weapon in the kit looks like a glaive, somewhere between a halberd and a spear. So in WYSIWYG, would it count as a power axe (halberd), power lance (spear) or an unusual power weapon?

Is Kharn a Commissar that kills enemies or are Commissars Kharn wannabe's who don't have the balls to kill enemies?

I'd call it a spear.

Arguments could be made for either a halbred or spear, but it could be which of the two you want it to be. In the end, it's not likely your opponent will care much either way.

The sword doesn't have to be a Dire Sword, you know, if it's paired with the... arm blade thing... it can't be a Dire Sword.

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.

That's what I mean. A Diresword is quite obviously a sword, but the "power weapon" in the kit is a glaive... Which is neither a spear nor a halberd.

Ah, my point was a bit different, namely "well, it's not a generic sword since you already have one".

A Glaive is a polearm weapon, which apparently is used in a very similar manner to halberds (among others). GW could've written better rules if they had written "axe or polearm" but they chose a very specific polearm. Not that most people would be able to tell the difference between a halberd and a guisarme, I can't, but depending on how die-hard you interpret the rules I'd say the following is a good way to handle it, bear in mind this is common sense:
Power Lance - long stick with pointy stuff in one or both ends. Mustn't be choppy or have a piece of smashy attached.
Power Maul - smashy weapons (just sticks, stones or sticks with stones of varying degree of refinement)
Power Axe - choppy weapons, on a stick of any length.
Power Sword - everything that's not the above.

Buuuut if you want it die-hard by the rules as written, then a guisarme, glaive, stavsvärd, naginata, dagger, whip, kama and another 30 weapons found in the DND Players Handbook is actually a Power Sword. And if you happen to be Swiss, then you don't get halberds at all, you get voulges which would be a power sword since it's not a halberd.

P.S. I'm still waiting for the shotgun-glove from Fallout to be introduced to some army.

I would classify a Glaive as a Halberd, thus a power axe.

GW obviously considers all polearm weapons to be Halberds.

The DA Exarch power weapon is located in the big rule book and is classified as an Eldar Power Spear (or Lance forget which). It is on the page with the picture of various CC weapons.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
