Hello fellow kabalites.

Is the voidraven any good? The razorwing yetfighter just has a whole more bang for the buck. 4 missiles and the poison shots if you want. Neat.

The voidraven seems better if you are meeting AV14 that can eather be handeled by wytches or other AP12 fighters like the dragon or the space marine storm raven. S9 seems nice. Also the bomb is pretty shure tp hit with S9 lance AP 2. But how mutch does the voidraven bring? after it shoots of it's bomb it only has the S9 lances. Not only that, but it seems like it can be hard to manover the flyers for shooting the lances and droping the bomb.

what do you people think?

It's better at dogfighting and tank hunting than the Razorwing, without a contest. Two void lances is effectively three dark lances in terms of penetrating hits and slightly less in terms of glancing hits. It will do much better taking down fighter craft or tanks than the Razorwing can ever hope to achieve. Not to mention it can withstand more damage than the razorwing, thanks to its extra pip of armor. It's not much more durable, but it is more durable.

That being said, the razorwing is the superior anti-infantry platform with its stock missiles and a pair of disintegrators. Downright mulches massive swathes of enemy troops.

Two very different units for two very different roles. If you want to kill footsloggers, take the razorwing. If you want to kill things with an armor value, take the voidraven. That's really all there is to it. And don't bother turning the razorwing into a tank hunter. It is rubbish at that job and firing at tanks means you're not firing your missiles which means you're wasting a lot of ordinance you spent points for.

I personally prefer Voidravens as I rarely have trouble with infantry and find I suffer the most at the hands of AV 12+ vehicles.

Funny you say that as I am gluing together a razorwing. If course, it would have to take the place of one of my 3 ravangers so I actualy becomes worse vs tanks for more points. However, It is better vs flyers. :-)

Is it worth putting ogther a voidraven I wonder? I know some people use the "batwing" but it does not seem worth it to me.

Love Voidravens usually use 2 (I use nightwing models) and a Razorwing at 1850. Great planes.

I use the razorwing model for my voidraven. I usually play with close friends so and they are okay with me declaring which unit that model is for the game we play.

Voidravens are just beautiful against light armor. People also tend to forget about the mine. Several times I have ripped apart a squad of terminators because my opponent forgot it is used during movement.
