I remember this was a complaint, when it really isn't the case. Does this make it look less German?

The white background is killing it. Plus the writing looks out of place.

I would have Latin words instead of Russian(I think its Russian) and ditch the white background.

No just no was my first thougth when I saw it. Then I realized it was guns in the air, not hands. Get rid of the white, the box and the Kyrrilic text and replace it with just the imagie of the Emperor and a single word benath it in latin.

The picture on the right needs to be fixed, the 303 is backwards. And the background of the emperor should match the rest. Just my two cents.

Thanks for reviewing the image, but I'm looking more for the SK sector in general, and whether more stuff like this will make it less German.

Just curious,, but why is it a German phrase with Russian writing?
Rough translation: Fight for our Emperor!
It's a privilege to fight for mankind and the Imperium.
Our beloved leader.

I would say, just use the left side (or right side) of the poster and put something on it like: "Join the Guard" or something.

I would also remove the 'our beloved leader' part. It just sounds wrong imo...

This is a good point I think. The Emperor isn't a head of state in the traditional sense, he goes beyond the cult of personality that dictators build up around them in that he is actually a god to his people.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Ok, so I'll recolor the center.

The Emperor would be more of a head of state to members of the Mechanicum AFIK since they follow the Machine God. Either way, it's open to change.

So you can read Cyrillic German? Looks like I need to modify the language to what it would actually look like, if there's a lot of people who can read it.

Some of the sample words that I've though of are:

Актеская
Стурмгевехр
Мактев
Варнеская
Ашцкнас
Красная
ди Маедцчен
ди Маедел
ди Фраелеин
Енжиклопидикон
Краснаявехр
Шхарзенкоммандо

The contrasting style of the emperor and the rest of it doesn't work. Either he should be drawn like the rest or vice versa. Also as others have said get rid of the white.

I am not a fan of mixing nonsense-German with Russian letters and a David star, when just a bit of research could give results making sense. But I guess you prefer such a nonsense-mix.

I think there's a good premise there, but it's muddled. You have very stylized troopers with a more realistic looking Emperor, and that clash of styles makes your work look like a collage and not a poster. I would lose the aquillas from the left and right sides of the poster, as well as the picture of the Emperor, the text and the ugly white box. Put a larger Aquilla symbol in the center of the poster, where the Emperor was, but without any box-out. Under it, in either Latin or Russian, you should write out the translation of the word "Serve." It's a simple word that is effective both in communication military service, and fidelity to the Imperial Creed.

Get rid of the white background, create an image of the emperor in the same art style as the rest of the image, and cut the text down to a single line. "For the Emperor"

I'm sitting here wondering why you aren't just painting some germans and russians for FoW.

Start allll the way over, and here's some simple advice: if your guys are even more obvious historical rips than the Valhallans or Krieg, you've gone too far. And hell, at least rip some history that hasn't been ripped. We have two factions each of spacerussians and spacegermans.

Gone too far by whose measure? You're talking about a game that prominently featured a "Tsarograd" campaign years ago in its flagship magazine, that created an entire miniatures line just so the developers could play Zulu! with Orks and Imperial Guard, and that regularly steals inspiration from modern and historical military equipment. Guard players borrow heavily from World War II sources all the time. Sure, some are less heavy handed about it than others, but GW themselves are some of the greatest offenders in this, and they're the ones that made the game.

Some people get bothered when they see a version of the game that isn't the same as their version of the game. At least this guy isn't in the group that says that anyone who has a historical 40k army is part of a world conspiracy to make the world exactly like in their army.

Just curious, but is it really necessary to use the Russian alphabet? I mean, it would be a lot easier to read if it was German with Latin alphabet or Russian with Russian alphabet.
(The first option also means that most other people can understand it.)

About most options that you proposed, I can only say that the name of your own planet is a good one. The rest, I'm not really enthusiastic about.

Still your poster, if you want to be the only one reading it, you may do as you wish.

You may be better off consulting a graphic designer. Just slapping an internet graphic inside a text box on top of a vintage graphic doesn't make for a coherent design. It looks worse than some internet memes...
