Hey everyone,
Next month I will be going to a hobby tournament. I was wondering if everyone would be willing to help me to make a decent list. I have a total of three units in drop pods. The SternGuard and Assault marines will come in first turn to try to destroy a tank or two. The dread will come in next and will be able to assault the turn it comes in. The rest of the army will advance. My idea was to present my opponent with a lot of targets combined with the drop pods I will hopefully put them in a rough situation. I could really use some help on deciding a good Hq and then what to do with the left over points. Any comments or ideas for the list would also be greatly appreciated. 2 jumppack librarians, unleash rage for close combat and blood lance 200pts +jumppacks

for one blood angels can only take lucius pattern drop pods for BA contemptor dreads not furioso
and it would run you 240 pts

and you need some fast vechile units due to horde armies such as DE cutting your troops to ribbons such as baal preds
or stormraven also you some dev squads behind a aegis with brother corbulo 2+ Fnp 4 up cover saves for the squad plus red cup goodness

Ah ok I found that out. Thank you for pointing that out. Is the dread worth keeping then cuz it will definitely get shot up

I would drop the dread or turn him into a frag cannon/heavy flamer furioso. The triple template on turn 1 is not only nasty, but really fun to play.

If you dont take the dread I would recommend keeping the list as it currently stands and adding in two stormravens and a libby. That would put you up to 1940. You could use the 60 pts and add two more Sternguard dudes with combi's. Throw the libby in the drop pod with them and give him the primis power from divination (TL's the unit). Pretty nasty surprise for your opponent.
