My girlfriend (possibly after hearing me bitch about fliers so much) has said she's getting me a storm eagle for christmas FTW, whats the better load out for this stormraven on steroids? I play CSM and imperial space marines of all descriptions except dark angels so which works better and what load outs are the best

I run mine with two TL lascannons. The nose-mounted melta upgrade's quite nice but it's a tricky thing getting into double-pen range, given the geometry of the thing.
It's an overpriced bullet magnet but it's fun. Especially if you load it up with TH/SS termies.

I have one and don't think they're worth it as a gunship - you're spending ~300pts to give it Lascannons and a Multi-melta or Missile Launcher. While that will make it the best gunship in the game currently, I think it's better suited as a transport. I run mine with a TML and throw a unit of SS Termies inside, so if it gets blown up it's not the end of the world.
Also, the Vengeance Launcher is awesome - 2 S5 pie plates don't sound all that amazing, but they throw out a ton of wounds.

I have wanted one for the longest time, So hopefully I will be ordering mine in the next couple of weeks. I would almost consider putting an techmarine in there somehow to make it a bit more survivable.

Its a decent TH/SS delivery system, although I don't like using flyers as transports because you have to drop into hover mode to disembark and assault. Thus putting your 250+ point unit at risk, plus whatever is inside is at risk from Str10 hits with no armor saves if the Flyer gets shot down.
I prefer to use flyers as gunships. A 300 point gunship is still quite killy a survivable for its points, and nothing besides it is at risk.
