Okay so I am looking to get back into 40k again and I am looking for some army suggestions. I have not seriously played in about 8-9 years to be honest, so I am a little out of the loop. I have a fairly extensive Eldar army, and an old version of the Necrons. My only requirement is that my army has few models, and has the colour scheme outlined below.

I am obsessed with the combination of black + green so something along those lines will be the colours I will use (open to tweaking of course). My other requirement is that my army has a low model count. I don't have the time nor patience to paint 50 guys to get an army going.

I'm not looking for a full army list, but just a baseline so I can start to do some research and get the ball rolling. Some ideas I had:

- Dark Eldar jetbike army
- Eldar jetbike army
- Space Marine Terminator and Landspeeder army

Money is not an issue either, don't care about the cost I'll spend whatever is necessary. I will pay a friend to assemble everything for me as I really only enjoy the painting limited number of units and actually playing the game...I hate all the other shizz. Any other suggestions about low model armies that would be effective please let me know.

Grey knights is probably the lowest model count and are also powerhouse units.

Dark Angels. They love terminators and speeders. They are also due for a new codex soon, so collect your forces early before people brand you as a bandwagoner...

Considering the colorscheme, necrons, use flyers

Okay although I don't necessarily a fan of the recent Necron changes, I'd be willing to give them a go as I think that colour scheme would look pretty boss on them.

Can someone put together a quick 30 second army list so I can get the ball rolling?

Is it possible to do a Doomscythe based army carrying units, 1 Monolith, and a bunch of Tomb Blades? Just trying to get a rough idea of what kind of stuff I would be getting.

Is the Eldar jetbike/vyper or Dark Eldar Reaver army at all viable?

You could do any of those lists, though know now that your DE Archon would not be mounted on a jet bike (a crying shame imho).

Necrons will fit this scheme best, followed by DE, Eldar less so...

I guess my main question is whether an Eldar army based on Jetbikes/Vypers/Fire Prisms would actually be effective or if it's just a gimmick. Same goes towards the DE Reavers based composition, and I agree that theme would match better.

I realize the colour scheme/theme would fit better with the Necron, of course.

Gotcha.
I've never run Reavers (yet!), though I can't see them working as an army... personally I think they'll be too expensive... Can't comment on the Craftworlders (besides, they're pansies, as if you'd want to! )

6 x 5 Immortals w Night Scythe 185
1110

2 x Doom Scythe 350

1460

1 x Necron Overlord - Sempternal Weave, Mindshackle Scarabs Res Orb and Warscythe 160
1620

5 x Harbinger of Despair 150

1770

1 x Necron Lord: Sempternal Weave, Mindshackle Scarabs and Warscythe 75

1845

Basically a flyer list. I would zoom for the first 3 or 4 turns and then look at dropping in your light sized squads to take objectives late.

Harbinger of despair gives you one S8 AP1 template and then 5 tesla carbine shots... you should be able to clear any troops or troop transport out of the way.

8 TL Tesla Destructors plus 2 Death Rays should do the job of weakening your enemy before you land.

The Necron Lord and Overlord gives you one PITA close combat unit... Between 2 mindshackle scarabs and then followed up with 5 S7 (7 on the charge) attacks should give you very good win percentage.

If you wanted a Craftworld biker army here's your units below:

Jetseer
Jet-Autarch
JetLock

Jetbikes
Vypers
Spears
Prisms
Warphunters

A nasty list thats fast and can really play havoc with controlling the board. The colour scheme would look pretty cool on a primarily bike army; only issue is that currently there are no jetlock/seer models so hello converting!

So far the effectiveness of 10 Wraithblades with Ghost Axes:
Tanked 2 Leman Russ squadrons (including the battle cannons and the triple plasma variant); whilst also getting wailed on by everything imaginable in a Fortress of Redemption. Only to get into CC with the tanks and open them up.
2000 points worth of Necrons with Forgeworld additions. Got into CC with a court of Lords and opened them up.
Killed a GUO.
Killed Angrath the Gargantuan Bloodthirster in an Apoc game (with the help of Iranna the Spirit Seer).
Ate a Hammerhead, pathfinders and scored after 3 turns of walking towards a 2000 point Tau gunline and overwatch!
And counting............
