2 CCBs at 1.5k might be a bit much. You have so many Crypteks, but so little units to put them in. With this setup you are only presenting 6 total targets to your opponent.

I feel the second list is a lot stronger and more flexible. Lots of shooting and good protection for your warriors. Looks good.

Not sure what Necron players think about Ghost Arks. My experience tells me that Night Scythes are much better.
I'd squeeze in another Annihilation Barge.

I like this list quite a bit, 7 av 13 vehicles is a nice base, and the troops inside will be able to fight without fea of reprisal for a while.
Plus, they'll be more mobile for the late game.

Agree, the second list is looking promising, but for some versatility, perhaps consider wuestenfux's suggestion and replace one of those Warriors + Lance-tek Ghost Arks with a Nightscythe full of Immortals + Storm-tek?
(if you have access to those models, obviously)

I like the second list. But I would try to get another Overlord to unlock a second royal court. Then split the Crypteks between the two royal courts to get a second solar pulse. You have very little long range fire power (but what Necron player doesn't?) and the two turns of night fighting I think would help get your Arks into position to rapid fire anything to death. Maybe drop the phase shifter? I know the 3++ is awesome, but 45pts for a storm shield is a bit pricey at 1500, but that is all my opinion. I don't know if there are any tau players in your area, but in my experience Broadsides make short work of..well anything. But, if they are smart they have black sun filters and the night fighting wouldn't matter anyway.

Thanks for the advice so far ... I am really leaning towards the second list, I would prefer to stay away from flyers if at all possible at 1500 points (just personal and there are less target priorities on the board).
If I had more points to work with I might throw in a nightscythe with immortals or another overlord / royal court.

Does everyone generally agree that the second list would be viable ..... and would it work as a TAC list?

You don't really have a anti flier response. So for tac maybe drop a ghost ark for a ADL with quad gun for your warriors to man.

Anyone else, is it viable and would it work as a TAC?

I've been running 3 Annihilation Barges lately with tonnes of success. Ghost Ark's and Barges synergize well with Imotekh, as the Jink save and the Stealth / Shrouded nightfight bonuses stack, and all their shooting has AP 5 or AP -, so the cover benefit isn't usually an issue.

Anyway, I'm a fan of AV13 spam.

180 points for 5 warriors in an Ark
245 for 10 warriors in an Ark
Harbingers of the Storm may only have a 12" range, but they go very well in ghost arks, with 4 S5 haywire shots each.

In my experience, 10 warriors in an Ark (they only get out at the end of the game) is quite effective, and the Arks typically last.

You're spending a lot of points on your overlords. Overall quite nice though.

The latest looks pretty solid to me. I think you have an answer to most armies, and the AV13 has its own play style and advantages. There are a couple things that could might work better, but you have to drop something good, so I wouldn't bother.
Note: make sure you don't get too aggressive with the solo CCB, he is your main counter to a few things, and can easily get wrecked by a basic marine squad with krak grenades.

Sounds good, I think to put this all together im going to start picking up a CCB and Battleforce box a month (maybe 2 the first month) that gives me plenty of other options with army variants if I change my mind later down the road.
- Hard to beat 20 warriors, 5 immortals / deathmarks, scarabs, Ghost / Doomsday Ark for $115, and at some point I think it would be funny to run a footslog army with around 100 warriors on the board with x3 monoliths.
