I was searching for some amazons for Blood Bowl on the GW website and came across Mordheim: Amazon. They were based differently than the bloodbowl amazons and they carried different equipment than Blood Bowl payers. Anyone know if this is a variation on another tabletop or if it is a Wargaming system by itself?

Pretre: Are repressors assault vehicles? If they are, I'm gonna need emergency pants.
n0t_u: No, but six can shoot out of it. Other than that it's a Rhino with a Heavy Flamer thrown on if I remember correctly.
Pretre: Thanks! I guess my pants are safe and clean after all.

Mordheim is a warband skirmish game set in the Warhammer world. It's sort of Warhammer's version of Necromunda. Luckily it's still available free from GW.

You'll find alot about it (and links to dowload it ) in this subforum

An excellent system and well worth a visit if only for the accompanying John Blanche artwork.

It's essentially a skirmish version of WFB with up to a dozen models a side. Easy to get into and most of your normal WFB models will be perfectly acceptable and "game legal" (whatever that means) so there is minimal outlay.

It is based pre Current Time in the Warhammer Universe not long after a meteor has struck Mordheim a city in the Eastern part of the Empire. The city is in ruins but warbands flock to it because the meteor is rich in warpstone. There is something unpleasant in the Impact Crater...

There are expansions for taking it out into the gerneral countryside allowing you to do generic WFB skirmish reminiscent of the Gotrek and Felix novels

One warning...lit can bring on a disorder known as CTO: Chronic Terrain Obsession. You can find yourself working into the wee small hours to finish just one more scratch built ruined building or street sign or pile of skulls or warpstone impact site
