Out of curiosity I looked up the utterly dreadful Zelda CD-i games, and boy, were they bad. I have never laughed so much in my life. "Mah boi" "Dinner" and "I'm so hungry I could eat an octorok!" are some of my personal favourites. Their awfulness is kind of forgivable for the sheer amount of hilarious YouTube Poops they have inspired.
I am tempted to buy a Phillips CD-i just to play these insults to the Zelda franchise.
Has anyone else experienced these travesties?

I have only experienced it through reviews and ytps. I find it hilarious actually. I never knew a company could make a game that bad.

I think it was more they had the license to make Nintendo games at the time and decided they'd see how much they could get from it. There's some Mario game as well of course. I'd not spend more than $50 on all of it though.

It makes me kind of miss the flash in the pan that was Youtube poops. It was an endless stream of user-created Dada-esque video art the likes of which haven't quite been replicated. There are still similar things out there, but they aren't the same.

Sounds like it.
Besides the Zelda games and Hotel Mario, what other "games" were released for the CD-i?

Dear Pesky Plumbers
The Koopalings and I have taken over the Mushroom Kingdom. The princess is now a permanent guest at one of my 7 koopa hotels. I dare you to find her if you can.
