For those who know about the Order of the Stick, Morland studios started to make 35mm of those glorious stick figures, starting with everyone favorite fighter, Roy.
For those curious, read the webcomic here: http://www.giantitp.com/index.html#4HKi9EL3r4A78fIyw7p

Yeah, looks really cool. Saw it on the OOTS site last week.
Will probably be good, WHEN they have more than just the one figure. Group miniatures, like this one, are like Pokemon. Gotta catch em all. I don't want just one of the group....

Interesting idea. I love the comic.
But, isn't Roy dark-skinned?

I am rather happy they started with Roy, if only because fighters are my favorite class
Not like I have money to spare, but oh well.
As for drazz, his skin is far more dark on the picture in the OOTS website, must be the lighting.

I like OoTS, but that price is ridiculous for a 35mm 3D stick figure. That's worse than GW.
No thanks. Too big a rip off for me.

Thanks for pointing that out. Now, I'm going to have to give it a second look. LOL
@ those who haven't read the comic
If you're a pen & paper RPGer, or ever have been -especially D&D/ AD&D, then you REALLY need to read the comic. IMO, it's one of the bes online.

Im fan of the comic, but dont liked it.
The sculpt is just bare simple, and the price is just to high...
To me it looks like lazy way to gain some money (and it have not come from the author).

I like the comic but this is some serious gak. They're asking Privateer Press level prices for something that looks like it was made by a kid out of play-doh.

... OTOH how do you want to 3D model a fethin' stick figure? it's really rather true to the comic, and I like it - though at that price really I'll just make it myself (the downside of trying to sell something made to look like a 3D stick figure )

I like OotS as much as the next guy, but when I picture Roy I always think of this:

Now that, I might buy a miniature of.

The body/head and sword are resin pieces while the legs, arms and eyebrows are metal so that, if you want to, you could bend the other leg so the foot is on the base for a bit more stability as in this picture....

1.) I love the comic, but won't buy these since I made my own out of sculpey a while ago.
2.) If you guys do not read the comic, you should start doing so. It's a great comic, seriously.

Utilizing Careful Highlighting
|
I am in love with OotS, but I don't think I'd buy this. It's too pricey for something so easy to sculpt (and paint).
I'd be interested in realistic renditions of OotS characters, though! I wish they do that. In 25-28mm.

I like Order of the Stick despite the art, not because of it. If I was going to buy some OotS models, I'd want them to be sculpted in a more realistic art style.
