eVayl is a hit and run style caster with a very decent assassination run. She requires a ranged element to force engagement. I've run her out of tier and in and I've always prefered running her in tier. At 25 pts you can actually hit Tier 4 and have all the tools you need to make a very strong game of it. Here is my 25pt Tier 4 list: eVayl +6 Angel 8 Angel 8 Harrier 2 Ravagore 9 Spawning Vessel 3 Shepherd 1 This list hits all of the tier requirements and has all kinds of game. The Angels will cycle refuge in order to start your hit and run tag team. Basically it works like this: Cast Refuge on Angel 1 turn 1. Turn two upkeep. Activate Angel 1, fly in, attack, refuge back. Activate eVayl, cast Refuge on Angel 2. Activate Angel 2, fly in, attack, cast repulsion to push enemy models out of charge range, refuge back. Turn 3, upkeep, rinse and repeat. This enables both angels to hit and run back to safety. You have to be aware of threat ranges, but with Spd 7, 3" charge, 2" reach for a 12" natural threat and pushing models 3" back with repulsion, you're looking at being 13-15" away from anything that can retaliate, which is amazingly good. Angels also (like most things, LOVE COVER. Def 18 Angels that can't be knocked down, 16 in melee if they are between the wall is good times and thats before tenacity. The spawning vessel is ok as at max, 6 guys can turn into 1 shredder for Tenacity and 1 more lesser of your choice. Get those guys murdering themselves right off the bat and get a shredder ASAP. The harrier has sprint so its like a built in Refuge. Use it to remove problematic solos, and at DEF 14, its more sturdy than you'd imagine. NOTE: Also a great target for Vayl's Oraculus since it is fast with flight and can get where you need it to be for Arcing spells. The ravagore and shepherd combo is self explainatory. You pop animus to set things on fire. Boost t hrough the roof to lay some pain at range to entice the enemy to move forward and then have the shep clear the fury. I like to put either Occultation (Stealth) or Admonition on eVayl depending on what she's facing. Try to keep her back since she's squishy. Either of those are also good for the Ravagore or even have on the Angel that doesn't have Refuge in order to help protect them. The assassination comes in the fact she can use her oraculus to make a beast her arcnode. Then pop feat and she can cast 2 fully boosted Obliterations backed up by the fully boosted Ravagore on a caster or problematic models you want to remove. It can cripple a heavy, but it can also take down casters. Along with the Angels who can either go in melee or shoot fully boosted and you get an amazingly strong assassination game. There are a lot of nuances to her, she's a very finesse style caster with a ton of Attrition built in, and at higher pt levels it gets more of the same. I love her to death and highly recommend staying within tier.
