So I like transports but hate how rhinos don't have assault. I like terminators but hate how dangerous deepstriking is. I also hate how theres only 1 eternal warrior (and it's not lucius the eternal). So this is a list that's more for fun but hopefully a bit competative.

10 csm + MoK + rhino + 2xflamer
10 csm + MoK + rhino+ 2xflamer
10 csm + MoK + rhino+ 2xflamer
5 csm + MoN + flamer (to stand on objective in my deployment zone)

Da plan:
Turn 1 -
Park 2 rhinos infront of the land raider and zoom up 18 inches.
Turn 2-
Assault out of landraider with Abadon and his mutiple mutilated mates (with apostle for hatred)
Disembark the troops behind thier rhinos

Fliers:
Not had to face any of these yet but maybe with so many bodies and hopefully spending a good portion of the time in combat will mean it's not too bad.

Obliterators:
I was thinking about taking obliterators instead of mutilators since you could jump out and fire twin linked heavy flamers and still assault. The only down side really is 1 less attack and no lightning claws. Other advantages include being effective if the raider gets blown up turn 1 or being able to change to gun line if I'm vs an assault army.

Combat
Mutilators put out 15 attacks on the charge with hatred & prefered enemy space marines. The dark apostle can fight seargents and abadon can potentially soak up some insta death wounds if vs power fists etc (i think? assumming he isn't in a challenge).

It certainly is a different list. It is a little geared for one tactic only, therefore its will work wonderfully 50% of the time. You just need to be facing a few oddments to bring the plan crashing down, I thinking along the lines of:
Your mega unit running into a unit of orks with some killa can support. The challenge take out one of your characters, if the Mutilators chose their better weapons to sort out the killa kans then the killa kans strike first and can instant kill the mulitators. Quite a standardish orky army.
Replace ork killa kans with wraithlord or a couple of dreads which just wander into position while your crossing the field.

Possibly fiddle so that you have a Plan B, even if it is just putting some better ranged weapons in the CSM units and presuming they will give you a small medium ranged shooty capacity.

What do you do if your opponent has vehicles or flyers?

I really don't see what this list is good against?

Its a shock list. Relies on one unit and the chaps in the land raider hitting home and quickly ripping through the opposition. Also handy if the CSM get the first turn!

It'll be good against elite armies, balances IG armies, orks, CSM, SM.

If the opponent has a handful of vehicles, the landraider will probably hit home and the rhino bound troops following up and it'll all work quite well. If the opponent has a silly number of vehicles and units (IG) then the CSM land in the middle of the lines and just don't have enough turns to get the job done - and get cut down in the opponents shooting turn.

If you're in combat who cares about flyers! The only dangerous ones are the ones that can land and pull out a big axe on you. Okay so if your against IG and you wipe through a unit all their vendettas can hoover up and TL lascannon the mutilators to mush.

It'll work some times, others it won't.

It'll be useless against anything which can comfortably take out the LR and a rhino or two before the CSM get to move - necron , tau, SM with attack bikes, SM/CSM with a load of lascannons.

The real problem with it is once an opponent has seen it once they can tweak their force to counter this one and there's not much this one can do because it is so heavily reliant on the LR guys.

i like it it is very go big or go home should be fun to play i would keep the muties because you are in a landraider and you will be getting the charge
