My friends and I just throw a scatter to determine which corners are used, then do a corner to corner line. No hassle.
What we do is draw an imaginary line from corner to corner in each direction, then throw a 50-50% die to see which line we'll use, mock up the center line with dice, and then measure out 12" perpendicular from that to either side to get deployment zones. Without accurate measurements like the ones given in the diagram in the
OP, that's the only way to get reasonably accurate deployment zones.

Thanks for that. Just measuring out on the long and short sides is a lot less hassle, than any other way of doing it.
