Local tournament is running 600pts for a change and i don't know what to do with my guard at this point level. Any competitive guard lists at 600pts or will i have to use tau?

You can do a mech list:


1x CCS in Chimera 4x Melta

1x Vet Squad in Chimera 3x Melta

1x Vet Squad in Chimera 3x Plasma

1x Vendetta

Put heavy flamers on the hulls of the chimeras.

Best I can do for a foot list is

CCS - lascannon

PCS - chenkov, lascannon
PIS - meltagun, lascannon

I've used

CCS melta x3, chimera
Vets plasma x3, chimera
Vets flamer x3, chimera
LRBT

There was some serious butthurt. LRBT just sat behind the chimera wall while the chimeras could respond to whatever threat presented itself. Can't remember what I spend the last 5pts on though, probably melta-bombs for my IC. I personally thing guard shine at very low points levels like this.

Mech up, I did this before at 600 points in 5th. There is no doubt you will have the best and most numerous tanks for the point range.

That said I would go with

Company command in Chimera x3 Melta
Vet Squad in Chimera x3 Melta
Vet Squad in Chimera x3 Melta

Leman Russ Battle tank


At the 600 points range the russ should dominate the field with its battle cannon. If you keep it far back enough its AV14 will be incredibly tough for anything to get through it.
