I am a pretty new player to the Ork army and I am looking for all the best Ork tatica articles I can find as to give me an idea of what kind of list I am going to build and how I should play the list. I have read the ones here on Dakka but I am looking for some off site ones, please feel free to post links to all the articles you guys think I should read, I am willing to read any and all articles relating to Orks. Also just want to take a moment to thank you in advance for any and all help you can give me.

The codex has some suggested armies based on style. i.e. Speed Freaks (lots of vehicles, orks in trukks, warbikes, etc), Mek army (lootas, kans, etc), footsloggin'(HQ, some artillery backup, and a lot of boyz). I run a footsloggin' army and it looks kind of like this occasionally I add some extra vehicles and elites.

Warboss('eavy armour, power klaw, twin linked shoota)

Nobz ('eavy armour)

Boyz lots of boyz some with sluggas/choppas, and a unit of shootas (with some rokkits and big shootas)

Looted Wagon (armour plates, boomgun, red paint, wrecking ball) [Being replaced by a battlewagon for the AV14 and Kannon]

I used to play fantasy so I like a large army, with these Orks I just cover the board with models. but with Orks there are many different options to customize your army.

The one on this site is probably the best.

I've been looking elsewhere, but that seems to have the best info in one place.

As already mentioned the Waaagh is also very good.

Too right! This quote about the Waagh banner made me LOL hard!, Its soo true:
"If you ever think about not taking one, punch yourself in the face."

On a serious note; did nob bikers escape the los nerf? I seriously need to add these badboys to my BW army, just not sure what models to buy... The forgeworld bike boss looks amazing but he's huge, and the nob bikers are too expensive. Thought about forgeworld boss and regular bikers as nobz, but would they look too small against him? What are you guys using?

LoS! nerf as in they can swap LoS! wounds all over? No, they cannot. The only one in a Nobz unit of any kind now that can still LoS! is the painboy, as he is the only character. Nobz of any fashion are not so good anymore. MANz is where you want your Nobz now.

As for bikers, Biker Boyz are still decent enough size for nob biker conversions if thats where you want to go. Just buy a box of nobz and do the torso up as nobz, youll be fine. But if your just wanting something fast to hang with your BikerBoss, roll out with some Koptas. They are cheaper all around, multiwound and grant hit and run on the boss when they are together. Pretty fun little combo.

My nob bikers are still kicking butt after the LOS FAQ! Sure they die a little faster but they are still hard as heck to kill.

Yea they do still pack a punch of course. Hell I might even start running a unit since I wont have to deal with the annoying wound allocation of 5th. That was really the big reason I just didnt use Nobz in 5th, was because wound allocation was just fething annoying

But again, for the price, MANz have it in spades

it looks a little dated, the bit about ard boyz says they can take out khorne berzerkers, chain axes are now ap4 so stay away from berzerkers with your ard boyz!

Like i said don't play orks in 6ed. Orks are as bad as Nids in 5ed. Lootas are the only playable unit in the codex

Don't listen to the above poster. Orks took a hit in several departments but can still win against most opponents (unless they're playing a Tzeentch Flying Circus). People just need to adapt their lists to this new edition.

Sure, it's way harder to win with Orks than it is to win with Grey Knights, Space Wolves, Imperial Guard or Necrons, but it's a lot more satisfying.

I think you should take your whining attitude elsewhere. Orks are FAR from the pussies your making them out to be. Either learn to play your army, or stop pretending to be a fething Ork player.

I usually have 4 Nobklaw bikers zipping around taking out armor. I love them. They do tend to die a little easy but its all bad luck on my end, and i usually take out at least 1 heavily armored vehicle before they finally perish.

Have to admit though i tend to have koptas last a LOT longer. They dont kill anywhere near as quick (unless i get stupid awesome rolls) but they shoot on turn 1 and if you have enough of them you can EASILY take out a vehicle or artillery turn one. Using this i thwarted a Football attempt by a space marine user hehe...he had 2 transports in a choke waiting to charge up for the football but i turn-1 demolished the one in front so he had to go around with the other and footslog survivors.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

Thats a smart way to handle vehicles really, pop the ones in front. Not to sound like a broken record, but thats basically how I use AV10 spam. I rush cheap buggies up and block access and LOS to my opponents. They either try and deal with the buggies, which is fun because thats 6 HP to make a squadron go away. OR they ignore them (which happens a lot, since they typically only have big shootas) and move around, again awesome for me, because 3 buggies, sideways, cover a LOT of table. And the buggies are still there to harass units.

Dude, you have no idea how wrong you are. I have gone 5 months undefeated in 40k as orks right now. playing minimum 1 match a week.

Orks have a 40% dependency on gunfire IMO, without using the proper amount of gunz you will be in for a nearly impossible fight, if that was the only weakness orks gained other than sucking in challenges that would be it.

Personally you just take elements of speed, with a few high quality guns like kannons, deffgunz & supahshootahs and then speed trukks with meganobz or take battlewagons. You still take boyz out the butt and KFF's for your hordey foot sloggers. Speed should use a mixture of Dakkajets, and deffkoptas and other than this you are more or less set less you wanna get and mean warboss in on the mix.

I've fought every codex out there since 6th was released except dark eldar which if you ask me have been nerfed far worse than orks or nids. Because orks and nids are able to absorb gunfire, nearly garantee the enemy won't get first blood and are too tough of a nut to crack before they reach close combat. And with this guys emphasis suggesting that orks and nids suck right now cause they aren't shooting armies has no idea the reverse form of thinking also applies all shooting armies are now ill-equipped to face assault focused armies.

I agree orks are not as bad as That guy making it sound.
But how you figure DE worse off?

I just played a 1000pt game last weekend against a ork army, similar to what ideas you've descibed ( kans, Lootas, Shootas, choppa/slugga/ in trukk plus a squad of nob bikers with warlord ona bike aswell and still managed to pull off a win without sweating to much.

The hardest thing to kill was the nob bikers, and they are even more deadly now in 6th!
FYI Lootas vs Reavers = Death ( from my experience atleast )

Kept ravager and raiders out of range untill reavers dealt with Lootas, Tied up the Bikers for 2 rounds with hellions and the baron, ravager/raiders and wyches owned kans/truk, then just focused eveything on the bikers. ( just saying )

Now yes obviously that was just one game against one race, but even looking at Battlereports lately, they havnt been fairing all that bad.
