Im new to 40k, so this may well be a stupid question with an obvious answer.

The rules book clearly says that Jump Units fall back 3D6" instead of 2D6". However, in the Jet Pack Unit section, there is no entry on Fall Back Moves.

Does this mean they fall back the usual 2D6"? I thought in 5th ed they were 3D6" too when Falling Back (I may well be wrong).

Would appreciate it if someone could clear this up for me.

Yep 2D6 Fall Back.
Unlike Jump units they're not built for speed.

I didn't realize that changed. I lost a unit to that last week.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

Great, thanks a lot! Am I right in thinking they were 3D6" Fall Back in 5th ed?

I guess Jet Packs are built for manoeuvrability, while Jump Packs are built for speed.

In 5th edition, jet pack was a subset of jump. Now they are two different subsets of the main type (infantry, monstrous creature, etc.).

Jet packs are designed to provide a stable firing platform.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
