Last Remaining Whole C'Tan

Pleasant Valley, Iowa

(or, if you don't cook, do you have to have your mom\wife\whatever make for you?)

For me, it's Baked Sausage Stuffing; as my mother (and now I) make.

1 cup of white rice
1lb of sweet Italian sausage
1 cup of Italian bread crumbs
garlic powder
onion powder
2 or 3 eggs
1 cup of grated cheese, such as Pecorino Romano or Parmesan
a few stems of flat Italian parsley

1.) Preheat the oven to 350.

2.) Make a pot of rice in the usual way; 2 cups water, one cup rice, boil 20 minutes. Let it cool to room temperature.

3.) Crumble and brown the sausage. Add a dash of garlic and onion powder - you can use an actual onion if you're not averse to them (I am so use powder). Let it cool off as well.

4.) In a large bowl, mix the rice, sausage, grated cheese, and parsley. The add 2 or so eggs, and then add the bread crumbs slowly. Mix it up with your hands. You want it to have a smooth texture, not sticky (add more bread crumbs if sticky) but not dry and crumbly either (add another egg, up to 3, but really just go slow on the bread crumbs so you don't reach this point - 3/4 of a cup to a cup should be it).

5.) Put into a 9x9 pan and cover tightly with aluminum foil for 20 minutes. At that point, remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes.

Any must-have recipes, Dakka? Turkey tricks?

They got angry because you tried to change a recipe? Are they still living in caves and wearing animal pelts, or do they just dislike certain change?

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.
