Oh god I feel like such a newbie... I'm goin' to start up a Necrons army but I don't know where to start, any suggestions?

Well, there are a few really good, points-effective strategies.

1) Nemesor Zandrekh and Vanguard Obyron - Put Zandrekh in a command barge, an give Obyron a unit of immortals. Rush Zandrekh across the board at something, and Obyron and his unit can teleport to within six inches of Zandrekh's barge. Fun times will be had by all.

2) Orikan the Diviner and a C'tan shard - Give the C'tan the "Writhing Worldscape" power. Orikan causes the entire enemy army to take difficult terrain tests on the first turn, and the C'tans power makes all difficult terrain tests into dangerous terrain. For more fun, add in some Harbringers of Transmorgification with the Tremorstave.

3) Necron air force - basically self explanatory. Night scythes are cheap flyers (100 points, and have a twin-linked tesla destructor) that can hold 15 guys. Then the Doom scythe, which has one of the best S10 AP1 weapons in the game, is only 175 points.

I hope this helps!

I sadly have no previous experience with Necrons at ALL. I don't even have their codex.... But I'll keep this in mind when I get the 'dex!
Thanks mate!
