Hardened Veteran Guardsman

Horde list for an apoc game I will be playing on saturday.

HQ
CCS:
Lord Commisar (with Chenkov PCS)

Troops:
Platoon 1=
PCS: Chenkov, 4x Laspistol and close combat weapon
PIS: Autocannon and Grenade Launcher
PIS: Autocannon and Grenade Launcher
Conscripts: 40 conscripts, send in the next wave.

Platoon 2=
PCS:
PIS: Autocannon and Grenade Launcher
PIS Autocannon and Grenade Launcher
HWS: 3x mortars
HWS: 3x lascannons

Fortifications:
Aegis Defense Line: Quad Gun

Plan.
Conscripts advance until they are destroyed. Chenkov + Lord Commisar keep them marching.
Infantry Squads provide covering fire until most of the conscripts are whittled away, then they advance to take there place and to cover lord commisar.
Bring conscripts back on and continue to advance to support the second wave.
Lascannons target Heavy armour, Mortars pin and quad gun shoots down fliers.

So there you have it. I want to overwhelm my enemies in an endless flood of bodies.
Please C&C!!!

This might just be me, but I wouldn't put the Lord Commissar in with Chenkov. If they fail the morale check, POP goes the Russian!

I'd actually merge those 2 platoons, combine the infantry squads into a single squad (and put the commissar with them), then get a veteran squad for your second troop choice. That way, the Lord Commissar is surrounded by a mass of bodies, and can still give the conscripts their inspiration.

Well, both the lord commissar and chenkov merely need to be NEAR the conscripts.

In any case, I'm not so sure that this will work. If you send the conscripts forward and then wait until after they die, then you're going to be marching dudes out in the open at worst, or you're going to have terrible force cohesion at best. If you advance the platoons right up behind the conscripts, then your list is going to have basically zero firepower.

Which is a problem in general. Lasguns are great for infantry, but I count exactly one, extremely fragile unit that's going to be doing all of your serious anti-tank. In short, you'd get horribly slaughtered by any mech list you came across.

I'd seriously consider thinning that conscript squad so that you have points to take every gun that you have that isn't at least S8, and upgrade it to a gun that's at least S8.
