Subject: New sitcoms vs Old sitcoms?

Hey, I've been extremely bored lately, hence I'm watching a lot more TV, which Includes sitcoms. (though evidently not improving my grammar.)
So i'm curious, which do you prefer? newer or older style sitcoms?
By new I'm referring to the likes of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Grown-ups, Massive etc Basically any after about 2000.
By old I'm referring to ones like, Last of the summer wine, Dad's army, Fawlty towers etc which pretty much pretty much covers everything before then.
And which one is your favorite? Or can you not stand them at all.
My favorite is a toss-up between last of the summer wine and two pints.
So what about you dakka?

Are talking British sitcoms exclusively? If so then my favourites are a mix between old and new(ish): Coupling, Black Adder, Fawlty Towers, The one with the dentists family that I can't seem to remember the name just now, Allo! Allo! and Monty Python!
I can't stand the Office or Little Britain!
P.S. - I also can't stand The League of Gentleman!

I prefer Red Dwarf I-Vi is to the later ones I prefer "Married with Children" to "Modern family". Can't stand any iteration of "The office" (and the original version is so horrible mainly because my English boss was just like that.) IT crowd and Big Bang Theory are too close to reality flashbacks for me (having both worked with and lived with people like that.)

Home Improvement was always good for a laugh, but I'll watch Black Adder (any season, but especially the forth) any chance I get.

I love sitcoms.
Early ones like Dads Army, 'Allo 'Allo, Porridge, Fawlty Towers, Only Fools and Horses, Red Dwarf (that started quite a while ago, before I was born), Spaced, Blackadder, The Young Ones, Dinnerladies, Vicar of Dibley, Father Ted and probably some others i've forgotten.
More recent ones like Peep Show, The Office, Gavin and Stacey, Two Pints of Larger and a Packet of Crisps, IT Crowd, Peep Show, Inbetweeners, Not Going Out, Grownups, Him and Her, My Family, The Mighty Boosh, Rev, Trollied.
American ones like Fresh Prince of Bel-air, Everybody Loves Raymond, Malcolm in the Middle, 30 Rock, The Office, Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, How I met your Mother and probably others.
Wow, thats a lot.

Also, anyone else feels that Seinfeld isn't funny at all? I've always wondered why people have made a cult out of such a boring show. I must have watched about a dozen episodes, and have yet to find anything remotely funny with it.
It's like King of the Hill. Can't even make me half-smile.

Seinfield was a comedy?
I thought it was all about the adventures of "whiny Jewish boy and his disfunctional social circle" and again, too close to certain people I know to be considered more than just a reality show.

There is no sitcom that has ever, or will ever, be as funny as Arrested Development. Period.

Pshah.
The Office was funnier.
And I don't consider it particularly funny.
Adam Sandler movies are funnier than AD.
Gangrene is funnier than AD.

Off the top of my head, I like Blackadder, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Jeeves and Wooster, The Goodies, Wilfred (the Australian version), Parks and Recreation, Kath and Kim, Flight of the Conchords, Get Smart, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Everybody Loves Raymond, Scrubs, Community, and The Rules of Engagement.
If there's one sitcom that I can't stand, it's Two Broke Girls. Watching that show is the most painful way to kill your brain cells.

More a fan of older sitcoms, myself. I dunno, I think they just had certain formulas that really, really worked. I've watched all the way through a bunch of them. Home Improvement, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, The Drew Carey Show, Frasier - I found myself in stitches after every episode. I just don't get that much with modern shows anymore. I just didn't find Scrubs, Arrested Development, or Parks and Recreation all that funny. The only modern sitcom that I've really enjoyed was How I Met Your Mother, and even that's because it's pretty close to the old-style ones.
