I looked up the stats for the sniper rifle in the BRB but all it has for strength is X. What does the "X" mean, I can't find any more info in the BRB.

It's all in the Sniper rule found on page 42.

Because sniper rifles wound on a 4+, the only time it comes into play is when targeting a vehicle which it counts as 3. The special rules section has a listing for sniper weapons
