I play Salamanders, and I'm wondering how other players are using them in battle. Personally, I use my army as a hard-hitting mech army with Fast Attack units to strike flanks and enemies that are causing havoc on my forces. Any other strategies for the sons of Vulkan?

With the changes to reserve rolls I would say go with pods and th/ss terminators using the teleport homers on the pods. Keep some cammo cloak scouts or allied ig behind an aegis to camp a backfield objective and man a coms relay so that on turn 2 reserves have an 8/9 chance of arriving.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Combi sternguard in locator pods

Twin HF ironclads in pods

Twin MM or twin HF speeders flying suicide

Of course the mandatory TH terms gating forward or DS in their face

Basically if the weapon can incinerate something you want to bring it because if you have vulkan you are lethal at short range, so its all about concentrating force effectively close up

Does three squadrons of speeders float your boat? This is the army for it.

For my 2000 pt list, Im thinking Vulkan and 5 Hammernators in a Redeemer, 2 Drop Dreads (one is Bray'arth), 2 Rhino-Tac squads, my converted Salamander Riders (bikers as of now), and Land Speeders if I can afford them in my list. Basically, in-your-face flamers, meltas, and thunder hammers

What allies would work well? I'm thinking Death Korps of Krieg for artillery dominance or Tau for mobile long-range firepower
