Hey all,

This is one of my first attempts at creating a decent list for me to get going in the hobby. I have a boat load of ork models that I came across and I'd like to use what I have to make a decent list. Below is what I have come up with.

Ork Shooty List 1500 pts
---------------------------------

HQ
Warboss on Bike - 160pts
Attack Sqig
Boospole
Cybork Body
Power Klaw

Elites
10 x Lootas - 150pts

8 x Nob Bikers - 520pts
4 w/ Power Klaw, Boss Pole
1 w/Power Klaw
3 w/Choppa, Twin-linked Shoota

1 x Pain Boy Biker - 75pts

Troops
2 x 20 Boyz - 260pts
36 w/Shoota
4 w/Big Shoota

Heavy Support
2 x Battlewagon - 260pts
Deff Rolla
4 x Big Shoota

3 Lobbas - 75pts
6 gretchin

My idea is to have the standard Warboss/Painboy/Nob biker gang that runs with the Warboss up front taking all the damage and sending look out sir wounds to the nob bikers without the fancy upgrades. There are 3 of them in there to soak up wounds from the boss. But, these 3 also have twin linked shootas on top of the twin linked dakka guns they have on their bikes. THAZ ALOTTA DAKKA. On top of that, I have the group of Lootas ripping shots across the battlefield as well as two fully packed Battlewagons filled with shoota boyz. The Lobbas are just an extra added thing which I think will help me to pin down the enemy and keep them occupied while my bikers zoom around the field.

I just wanted to take advantage of the mobility of this mob with its good amount of shooting ability. The amount of shooting each turn will be grand.

The only thing I'm worried about is enemy armor. I'm hoping my nob bikers can rip apart their armor before it hurts me but, as I do not have any game experience, I am only going on theory.

What do you guys think? It's not a perfect list, but I am just interested in seeing if you think it is well rounded enough to get me started in this game, and keep me interested by providing me with a decently competitive list.

Thanks!

Why TL shoota on the bikers? as it's a bike you can only shoot with the dakkaguns or the wep the nob has, i'd rather take a kombi skorcha then. the and you got a painboy in their group cybork parts would be good incase of something with to strong hits you. lobbas great but a ammorunt or two helps allot (reroll's the scatter)

Waagh like a bawz

Kaptin Goldteef's waagh! 16250 points 45/18/3 (W/L/D) 7th Ed

For an ork army this list seems very small. the nobs could be replaced with a few sets of shooting squads even just changing them to warbikers saves massive points.and 2 big meks with SAG'a seems to work real well being there under a hundred points with the some ap 2 that the orks lack in MadDok in a full squad of boys isnt somthing that can be turned away from T6 is nice if theres lots of Str10 blasts

im guessing you dont really want to buy new models, but depending on how good your Meta is you might have too

A good rule of thumb in this game is too never take just one,
So if you want to run lootas, run at least two squads
If you want to run bikes, run at least 2 squads and play higher point games to make them more effective (bigger unit painboy and waagh banner do more for points)

It may not be the worst thing to drop the bikes, add lootas and maybe another battlewagon full of boyz

I read that lobbas are pretty awesome. I guess they were wrong?

I originally had 4 squads of boyz. 2 shoota squads and 2 slugga squads. The sluggas were in trucks and the shootas were in the battlewagons. I decided against it because I wanted to add some bikers because they seem to kick ass. SAGs are a decent alternative but they are completely worthless sometimes as I have read. I'm guessing you have faired well with them? Would you suggest running more models? Like more squads of boyz? How do you transport them? Or do you foot slog?

I don't mind buying new models, but I have roughly 300 boyz, a ton of deffkoptas, bikers, kans, trucks, nobz etc. I have more than what I have used in this army. If you think something else would be better off than what is here, let me know. I may have it. Would you suggest running full squads of lootas or did you just mean to split up what I have? Unfortunately lootas are roughly 25 bucks a box for only 4. I have 8 at the moment and was going to buy another box to make it at least 2 squads of 5 or 1 squad of 10.

What is a decent amount to split into multiple squads? And I don't mean just lootas. Bikers, Boyz etc..

Thanks all for the replies.

Technically Lootas arent even using "Deffguns" anyway, they use any larger weapon other races have special rules for. One of the weapons in the box for lootas is technically a Lascannon for instance, but Orks dont have a lascannon rule so bam deffgun.

Deffguns are just....overly killy big shootas. Customize some and bam extra deffguns. Or just steal some larger weapons from another race via Ebay or something.
I have one im working on thats essentially a big shoota and 2 shootas wired together.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

14000pts Big 'n Bad Orkz
6000pts Admech/Knights
7500pts Necron Goldboys
