Hey guys!

I proudly present my new Necron Aegis. Beeing an advance species, Necrons rely on energy fields not on metal:

Energy fields are made from plasticard, the energy emitters and Telsa platform are from LEGO bionic toys.

Maybe some of you are inspired

I like it. With the army behind it, the combination of the colours is rather striking.

My only issue is that the generators don't look very Necron-y.

idk....if its just me, but im not getting the "necron-y" feel of the ADL...it has more of a eldar/ tau feel to me. It definitely works and is effective, so no complaints there. Take it with a grain of salt honestly, it looks good; just my very minor opinion quirk of it.

I'm not a huge fan to be honest. I love the colours you've used, and your Necrons look great, I just don't think the walls look very much like an energy field.

I saw a cool one that was made with cut up flying bases that looked like projected energy fields. You could maybe try that?

"Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?"

I love the color contrast. You dont see brightly colored necrons often but done right they always look amazing!

Hopefully one day i'll have an army!

Interesting design but i think it would look better as a tau aegis instead of a necron aegis because it doesnt really look like necron technology

It fits your army completely but could not stand for a Necron Aegis for any other necron army then yours, for this however I congratulate you and hope that you'll have alot of fun with them!

Necrons wouldn't rely on shields to defend them, the actual use of quick emplaced defence lines isn't necrony in any sense, they rely on their superior bodies and self repair systems, they don't require cover. But in this game we tactically do, Necrons can emerge buildings with their eerie tech, so they would just summon a defence line when needed. (Kinda like the buildings in DOW dark crusade)

Yet again, these defence lines look epic with your crons, And I hope you'll enjoy them and love your life

really like it. Great idea. One thing I would suggest is using plexi glass, or some other clear plastic, preferably with a tint on it. Than paint on those blue energy lines (which I would like to say you did a really good job on). I think that it would look a lot more like a crackling wall of energy and be slightly thinner. That's my suggestion. If you prefer the look as it is another cool thing you could do would be ripples of energy where enemy fire is hitting the shield? Any way looks great.

I like the color scheme. I haven't seen one like that before for Necrons. Good stuff.

Thank you guys for the kind comments! I know, clear plastic would be better. Also slightly round shaped one would be cool - but where to get?

For plexi glass you could probably pick it up at any real hobby store. If your game store has conversion gear they may have it. If the hobby store does not have it then I am sure that they would be wiling to let you know where you could find it. I think that plexi glass is the right thing... Hell ask around dakkadakka, I'm sure someone would be able to tell you where to find it.

Any ways, even if you can't find it I would add in ripples of shots hitting the energy shield (I assume that is what it is). Either way it looks great.

You should be able to buy 1.5mm plexiglass at any store that does signage.

If you look in your local directory there are usually a ton of places that make signs and point-of-sale stuff and if they don't have it in stock they will tell you who they buy from.

You might even be able to pick up some offcuts for the cost of the petrol out there.

Cheers
