A buddy of mine said he still makes his FNP roll on a 4+ if you read as written. Is that correct? Under the red grail rule. It says "He passes on a 2+ rather than a 4+" making it sound as if he gets a FNP on a 4+ still rather than 5+.

Pretty sure the Bangels FAQ changed that.

FAQ only changes the first sentence. Corbulo gets to make his FNP rolls on a 2+ instead of a 4+. Everyone else uses 5+ as there is nothing that gives them FNP (4+).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Since he gets it on a 2+ anyway why does it matter if his "default" FNP is modified?

Unnessesarily extravegant word of the week award goes to jcress410 for this:

FnP from the chalice is 6" so if it was 2+FNP instead of 4+FNP, etc

Nobody is really being clear here, but the suggestion is that he would get a 2+ FNP himself, and everyone within the 6" would get a 4+ FNP. The reason this is being suggested is because the wording (he gets a 2+ from his grail instead of the normal 4+) so the Red Grail may specifically give a 4+ by default.

This isn't the way I take it though. The Red Grail doesn't say it provides a 4+. It just follows the rules of the normal challice, which gives FNP, with the added bonus to Corbulo himself.

Correct the BRB even asserts if another number were to be used it would be FNP(X)

It looks clear that, despite the mention of a 4+ for fnp which would be nice for BA, the FNP roll for corbulo is 2+. Makes him almost useful.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

This Codex was written when FNP was at a 4+ ... this has changed when 6th Edition came out.

Now, we like big books. (And we cannot lie. You other readers can’t deny, a book flops open with an itty-bitty font, and a map that’s in your face, you get—sorry! Sorry!)

Yes, however if it had stated FNP (4+) it would have been FNP on a 4+. FNP can be modified when it is explicitly done.
