So I'm getting ready to make some purchases for a new IG army and I think i have an idea of what I want but I am not looking to make this a super competitive list where I eat peoples faces every time we play. If this turns into something competitive then that's fine by me. any way this is what I'm considering to run.

Company Command Squad x5 155
Power Fist, Regimental Standard, Grenade Launcher x 3, Officer of the Fleet, Astropath

Storm Troopers 10 195
Power Weapon, Flamer, Plasma Gun

Ratling Snipers x5 50

Infantry Platoon x36 280
Platoon Command Squad, Power Fist, Commissar, Power Fist, Vox Caster, Infantry Squad x3, Auto Cannon x3

Veteran Squad x10 200
Demolition, Melta Gun x2, Heavy Flamer, Vox Caster, Chimera

Veteran Squad x10 135
Vox Caster, Sniper Rifle x2, Heavy Flamer, Forward Sentries

Scout Sentinel Squadron x1 41
Auto Cannon, Search Light

Hellhound Squadron x1 151
Smoke Launchers, Multi-Melta, Search Light

i have a decent chunk of change to drop so any thoughts would be nice.

1200 (1207) is kind of a random point army IMO. I would add some heavy support or flyers (like an Ordnance Battery or Leman Russes [or variation], vendettas or something) at least something Heavy to take out the enemy Heavies. But that's just my opinion, and I have a small IG army compared to my others.

WAAAGH!!!

You need to put a vox on your CCS so they can give orders or else the other voxes are useless. PCS orders arent great so they shouldnt really have voxes to issue orders and as your veterans are in chimeras they cant recieve orders so you may as well just drop the voxes in general. Its not worth it to have the astropath as your sentinel is the only unit that should be in reserves, so your basically spending 30pts to make sure your sentinel comes in turn 2 to get blown up. Your Commissar in your infanry squad cant have a power fist as only a lord can take that. Your PCS is too small to take a power fist, it strikes at initiative 1 and since theres only 5 guys they will mostlikely get wiped before he attacks. Your storm trooper squad should be broken down into 2 small 5 man squads because that squad has a plasma and a flamer, pretty much aiming at going for meq and infantry targets so your opponents large blasts will blow the whole squad in 1 turn if they dont spread out. Storm troopers are better off when you specialize the squads like running a 5 man squad and giving 2 melta guns to hunt tanks. CCS is probably better off running plasma or melta. Most of this is advice for building up to a competitive list so you dont have too take it unless you want too. I would suggest looking into anti tank weapons as you have a vets squad with 2 meltas and multi melta on your hellhound. both units are fragile and if your opponent bring like a landraider it will probably walk all over this list. But as mentioned most of this is for more competitive gameplay and also improves how well your forces will work as guard dies easily and you will want to get the most out of your forces before that.
