Hello, I just want to introduce myself. I've been into Warhammer
40k since autumn of 2007, and I exclusively play Tau

(not for lack of interest, more like lack of funds and the comfort of focusing on just one team).
I decided to join dakka dakka because I was looking for upcoming rumors and I saw how extensive this forum was, I think it's a nice place to talk to people about the hobby I enjoy so much (especially since I moved and have no local players to really talk to, save for my brother).
My main opponants tend to be
IG (my best bro and ex-roomie) who plays air-cav vets (before it was cool). He favors overwhelming firepower from Vendettas and carapace vets with grenade launchers. Also loves mortars and heavy bolters.
And my actual brother who runs 'Nids, Orks, and
CSM, in that order. He favors choppy over shooty in most instances. His
CSM are nurgle.
I primarily run a pretty standard tau army. Crisis suit commander with bodyguard, and depending on points 1 or 2 teams of suits as elites. I want to use stealths more, but point-for-point I generally go with crisis suits. I love the idea of being very troop/infantry heavy

, but with
FW being a (
IMO) mediocre for their point value, I typically only run 2 or so squads, usually with at least one devilfish. I want to use vespids, but seeing as they suck, and I need markerlights, I typically use pathfinders, and heavyweapons are pretty standard with Railheads or Ionheads, and maybe a squad of broadsides. I would like to use sniper drones but since I cannot squadron tanks, I cannot afford a Heavy Support choice for them. My loadout can vary, but that's the general gist of my team.
I can't wait for the new Tau codex this upcoming year, but patience is a virtue. Also, I'm the only guy I know who loves the idea that Cruddace is writing it.
