Can anybody point me towards a tutorial either on the forum or on the net with a "How-to" paint an Ash Waste gaming board.

I have a Realm of Battle Gameboard and want to paint it up for 40k games. Looking for something based around greys/browns.

Thanks

Pete

There was on the GW site but like all the useful stuff, it was removed.

Try looking around for necromunda+ash wastes.
They did do some stuff for the ash wastes when it was in the necro magazine - but I had long given up playing the game by that point.

Not sure if any of this is available to you, or if it even suits your fancy, but ...

My grandmother still has an old coal burner for heat in her house. I would take the coal ash, and glue that down to the board, followed by the most wicked clearcoat I can fathom. Yes, I'd be doing it outside with a dust mask, and it would be a truly messy project, but I'm a big fan of using real life things in my hobby (Real rust pigment as rust, etc..)

Good luck
