Apologies if this is already around, but a quick search of both google and dakka didn't turn anything up.

Some of the members of the local gaming club are planning on starting up gorkamorka. We've all played GW for years and were around at the same time as gorkamorka, however I never played it . Despite owning the rules, a trukk and a fair few digganobs, most of which are still in bits and unpainted, along with their original bases. My question is if I venture into Gorkaorka with a squishy humie mob as my first try (thus saving pennies at this expensive time of year) am I at a disadvantage to the other orky mobs, or should I just go ahead and get some new toys? I've always fancied a rebel grot mob too, just for the converting, but we'll see how it goes.

They're all currently soaking in power spray to get rid of the awful childhood paintjob!

Go for whichever faction you actually want to play as. Diggas get shamans and archeotech even if they are squishier. Skippy has given me a run for my money repeatedly with his Diggas so I wouldn't worry, you might just need to put a tiny bit more thought into your tactics than most Ork players!

Personally I want to start another Outlaw MC mob, although I may go for a new standard Ork mob first.

So I've decided to crack on with some squishy Diggas, here's my Digganob on bike:

I'm quite happy with it, it was surprisingly easy to convert from a scout biker and some spare catachan bits I had lying around

Nice!

The little furry bits are awesome but you've got some serious mould lines on those shootas, might want to get a blade on 'em.

I have all the rules for Gorkamorka, and I have to say that the strengths of Diggas are the fact that they get all the orks tech plus larger numbers of gangers, coupled with the variety and power of archeotech guns.

Also forgot Shamans.

For anyone who is interested, the diggas performed as expected in their first game last night, a four way between some diggas, rebel grots, some gorkas and some morkas. My squishy diggas when charged went down no problem, but in my turns when I got to mob the orks they performed admirably! Also glad I kitted them all out for close combat, as despite being able to hit quite a lot, my shooting was totally ineffective!

If you guys have some photos of your battles I'd love to see them. It's always fun to post stuff like this on tUGS so others can see that GoMo is still being played.

In campaign games, I have found Diggas do nicely. In Gorkamorka, guys that go out don't necessarily die and will gain experience.

Early on you might take a few bad losses, but your numbers will carry you through.

Ok, so we're a couple of weeks into our Gorkamorka campaign, and my diggas have yet to win a game after playing 6 (maybe 7) games. But my digganob, Brog, did survive his first two bouts so is leadership 8. Most of my losses however have been to failed rout checks . Despite not winning a game my mob rating is the highest in the campaign, currently at 186 (with some post battle stuff to do as I ran out of time after a game last night, but I am buying a new bike for my digganob as his is now a rattling bone shaker with no steering that is held togethor with tape!)

We have some photos in my gallery:

Apologies as they are a bit dark, I'll bring a proper camera next time!
