FINALLY! Just checked on the status of Ramshackle Games online store (i check it nearly every other day), looks like its up and running again.

I was able to browse through all their products in the online catalogue which had been closed since about august.

Gonna get me some artillery cannon pieces and flak cannon turrets to slap on the back of a chimera chassis...

XD Great. Now to have a look and see if there's anything I actually want to buy.

On that note. How do the vehicles scale up to 40k?

The vehicles are okay, some maybe a little small but thy bulk up well. I'm after their triddlins. Lots of converty goodness for all manner of things there.

Well I was thinking of using some in my Traitor Guard army. I'll probably just buy the bits instead and add them onto scratch built vehicles, as the ramshackle ones are a bit too post-apocalyptic looking (ie Orky). The bits will look good on the shanty town I'm planning though. =)

Those cannon parts look nice. It's nice that you don't need to buy the whole model to get the parts you want.

That's great news. With free shipping and reasonable prices even before that Ramshackle is a really great deal. I'd order some now but I've already got a batch inbound from a US dealer who was closing out the line. As for scale comparisons, check their customer gallery here to see pics of ramshackle stuff along side of and kitbashed with GW stuff.

The GNU armored transports are looking like a great "rhino" alternative for my squats.

Yeah the Gnu parts can definitely be utilized by the Imperium, the front cab piece is just about the same width as chimera hull (ie. without the track sides), the rest of the stuff is heaven for ork players; bikes, trikes. buggies, trukks even orky tanks can be cobbled together, cheaply too!

I love the triddlins section, and they usually throw in a load of freebie bits when you make an order, miscasts etc that only need a slight bit of GS to be made good again.

I'd say they scale up perfectly with 40k, if not slightly larger, in my opinion, i have some of their bikes that I've used to make motorcycle riding IG roughriders, the bikes are BIG and i went for the ones that have the integral legs but when you stick a cadian torso on it it doesn't look out of scale.

I can't seem to find any scale shots of the gnu in their gallery or of the trike....

The newer stuff isn't in the gallery yet. However, by referring to the pics in the catalog and also looking at the pics of the various parts (usually linked in the model's entry) you can usually find enough pics next to a ruler to get the dimensions.

Then you can compare them to GW sizes here...
http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Scale_Model_Kits_for_40K
... to see how they compare.

I'd hope so if he's now offering free shipping worldwide.

Are we going to have a super pedantic argument about the vagaries of shipping costs, or talk about the products?

Seems to be what you want, but if the price of postage is added to the price of the item it isn't free is it?
My question was about the products, you bought postage into it, not me.

Guys, just look at his products. The prices are still more reasonable than just about anyone else.

There might have been some price raises, but whether that was because of relocation, inflation, taxes, shipping or cost of materials, it comes down to whether it's worth it to you or not.

For folks in the USA, any price raises are a small fraction of what it cost to ship to the USA before he instituted free shipping, so I'm not complaining.

Jesus, that's not a small increase in price - I remember the Boring Machines being around £8 each when I bought mine - they're £15 now!!

Maybe it's the new sculpt? Does seem like a big jump though...

Apologies Doomrock, i think you are right, the prices look like they have indeed gone up. I remember the degu scout car being £8, now its £13. Infact all the complete vehicle kits look like they have risen a couple of pounds in price. Checked the triddlins section too, some parts like the Gnu front cab have gone up, other parts like stinger wheels have stayed the same...

Prices go up. Curtis has always been too cheap for his own good. His prices are still way better than most for parts and vehicles. He's a good guy too boot, so I don't mind paying extra for the service.

I'm still going to be ordering a truck load of stuff.

The price increase only matters once you have ordered enough models that the difference in price from the past to now begins to exceed the price of what was being charged for shipping in the past. Until that point mathematically you're actually paying less.

Ramshakle's stuff may not be for everyone, but I'll tell you that the price being charged is still a wonderful deal for us.

Those drills are basically 2 for 1 in terms of their price vs. a drop pod. I was more than happy to plunk that down. The rest of his prices seem pretty reasonable.

I don't know - the thing is, I really like Ramshackle, but their sculpts are a bit messy, take a LOT of work to fit together and clean, and the resin material he uses is pretty horrible. When something like an Iron Grumbler stand-in Rhino was £8, I thought that was all fine - I can certainly justify the saving against the amount of work I'm going to have to do to it - it's still a bargain, and I'd still happily pay £10 or slightly more.

But £15 for a vehicle which requires that much work goes over the limit for me. To justify that cost, I think the sculpt quality would have to be a bit better.

It is £15.00 isnt it. Well, I'll back track somewhat, not excessively priced for a vehicle, but quality could be better. The bits a re still good value, from what I can see.
