Forgeworld Shas'o R'Alai model I painted up for a client. The client wanted it to look like the one on FW's site but with some of the far sight colors to show his support for the commander. He gave me a lot of artistic freedom so I added a custom base using some cork board, and tried to add some splashes of the orange red and white he wanted where I felt it could accent the model. This was my first time painting a FW Tau Battlesuit and it was a blast! CC welcome.

First pic makes me think 'Captain America!' with the colours on the shield!
When you zoom in it looks really well painted & based, but it's very difficult to fully appreciate with the poor resolution of the pictures. Any chance of a big closeup?

Yeah sorry about the poor pictures. Here they are a bit higher res hopefully it helps. Thanks for the comments by the way glad you guys like him and I will take the Captain America look on the shield as a compliment haha.

Really nice, the colour scheme reminded me of a certain comic book character too. It really suits the Tau, I'm liking it a lot. I'd like to paint this model up myself!

OMG thats exactily what I thought!

Somehow it indeed possesses the complete Captain America feel! Except that, the model is just AWEESOOMMEE and I think that an entire tau army like that would be EPIC to see (with more shields captain style ofcourse!)

Thanks a lot guys really glad people are taking well to the scheme! I too think an entire army with the scheme would look really cool. Especially with some vehicles using the same battle damage and splashes of the CaptainAmericaness haha. I cant deny that I was really happy with the shield in the end ^.^

haha the blue armor and that shield color scheme make me think Captain America
