Hi, First post!

New to the game and i keep getting tabled by a SM player spamming tanks/terminators at 1500pts. Here is my latest attempt at taking him down!

Hurun black heart (for his infiltrate and armour bane)
9 x Marines - Plasma gun, Rhino
10 x Marines - 2 x plasma, rhino
10 x Marines - 2 x Flamer, Icon of Vengeance
5 x Terminators - 4 x combi plasma,5 x Power Axe, Heavy flamer, Icon of Vengeance, Mark of Slaneesh, Gift of mutation.
5 x Chosen - 4 melta, melta bomb
2 x oblits - Mark of Nurgle
1 x Oblit - Mark of Nurgle
7 x Havoc's - 4 x missile launchers

Plan is to infiltrate the 5 chosen to take out his vindicator turn 1, Use the flamer marines to sit a home objective. The 5 man termi's will tie up his Hammernators and lib. leaving my oblit's and havoc's to work on his tanks

Any advice is appreciated

Not liking the Icon of Vengeance on the terminators. If they need a Morale Check, they're probably on the way to being dead if you've lost two terminators. At that point they're probably taking plasma fire so the last remaining guys will be dying to failed armor saves from bolter fire or splinter fire.

Also, with so many Power Axes why are you making them Mark of Slaanesh if they're striking at I1 no matter what?

Drop Slaanesh and give the single oblit another buddy. I think that's enough points.. 35... 10 from GoM... some points from the mark.... Maybe make the Missile Launchers into autocannons. I think they're cheaper?

With the new book, only take the missiles if you are giving them Flakk. Otherwise, Havocs need autocannons due to the amazing cost.

Thanks for the advice, totally forgot about the power axe striking last! dropping the Mark, Icon and changing to auto cannons will get me a mate for the oblit!

He has no Fliers 2 preds, 1 vindi, 2 razor backs, 5 hammernators, 5 tac termi's 20 marines and 5 scouts. So 4 Auto cannons will give me 8 shots needing 6 to glance his preds/vindi or krak missiles are 4 shots needing 5!

Need to get the transports open early as he tends to rock up on objectives turn 5 and win!

I completly Agree on the Autocannons, they are absurdly costed.

Find away to get another marine in that 9 man, for another plasma gun.

Well......Even though I have promised to lessen my blood god ways.....Take a look at a Khorn Lord on Juggernaut...with Axe of blindfury...and some nurgle spawn...or kharn...always kharn

I think he wants the 9man so he can stuff Mr. Hurt-on in the unit.

correct 9 man unit to stick Mr Hurun in so he can hitch a ride in the tin can. taking auto cannons leaves 25 points to spend, im thinking havoc launchers for the rhinos or 2 extra wound guys for the havocs!

I do have Kharn but after he got bitched by an orc nob in a challange last week and got insta gibbed he is going to sit a few games out!

yea....Kharn can have that downside.....weeelp Khorne lord on jugger if you like around 10+ atks on average of ap2 goodness at t5 , unfort EW only comes on big bad himself, so big toughness has to carry the day
