From TecToy in Brazil.... These both seem like a great idea to get your fix of nostalgia without busting the bank or having 100's of those huge VCR style game boxes all over the place!

The MS Evolution looks pretty cool too..

As does the Megadrive 3....

So Dakka, are there enough old skool players out there who would buy one of these?
And if any of you guys have one, what's it like? I'm very tempted, if I order soon they should be with me before Christmas!

The Evolution comes with 132 built in Master System games and the Megadrive 3 comes with 81....game lists and prices here www.tectoy.com.br/

If I recall correctly the original controller for the MS only had two face buttons plus a D-pad, I assume they've gone with the one controller to keep costs down. Are these sanctioned by Sega?

I couldn't find the list of games on that site but I found it here

http://segaretro.org/Tectoy_Mega_Drive_3_%282007%29

Not all are specific games released for the Mega drive.

The only thing I would say is that this version doesn't have the cartridge slot. There are others out there, maybe without as many built in games, that also have the slot to play the actual games.

Tec Toy have had the Sega licence since the eighties. Originally they were the official manufacturing agent but now they are the only company in the world still making Genesis and Master Systems. Due to Brazil being so poor and imported electronics being so expensive, Brazilian games developers still make games for these systems.
