Ok, so I have made the choice to change out all my bases for nice shiny resin.
My question is how to remove the models off the bases without damaging the paintjobs?

I usually use a flat razor and essentially chisel it off, though if you have sand and flock on it already it may damage the blade.
Going slowly and patiently would be advised

Slot bases are pretty easy since they are very weak at the point where the slots end. Just bend them and they snap in half. If they are the solid plastic bases with plastic models glued to therm it's a bit harder. I've had success using clippers and chopping the base up until it's all off.

Most are slotta bases, its for my Khador army. I took my Conquest off its base and put it on a resin base and had a heck of a time getting the flock off the bottem.

If you don’t mind losing the slotted base, iv had success removing with minimal damage by holding the 2 sides of the base perpendicular to the slot and bending them down. The thin side walls should break and release your model if it was glued in with super glue though plastic cement I don’t know. Ymmv Edit: though I just noticed you be talking war machine/hoards but I think the technique should apply

I'm gonna give that a try, The ones that I know will suck are the ones with a bunch of GS around the slot....
