I'm trying to make a list and not sure where to put my warlord. I was thinking about taking 9 bloodbrides with champ, agonized and 3 hydra gauntlets in a raider. What are your thoughts?

I've only ever ran mine with Incubi or Trueborn, (shooty for the born) or with allied squads. If I were you I wouldn't take Bloodbrides, as the Overwatch nerf hurts them more than wyches when instead you could put him with wyches, which are nearly as effective, cheaper and scoring.

I would run it like so,
9 Wyches with Hekatrix with Venom Blade (Eat challenges) Haywire and either Flails or Shardnet (Gauntlets are worse than the razorflails) all in a raider. Still I prefer throwing him with incubi in a venom for choppy goodness.

back on the shelf in favour of vect, lilly or a hammy :?

The archon is armed with a husk blade, venom blade, soul trap, shadow field, and combat drugs

Hekatrix Bloodbrides no doubt. Overwatch hurts, but haemy + archon + 8 Bloodbrides (1 agonizer) is a pretty powerhouse unit. Put a nightshield on a raider and toss it in reserve.Enhanced aethersails and shock prows are good too, but use as points allow.

Archons are best suited to joining a unit of Eldar Harlies with Fortune. Barring this, I would advise the Baron, Duke, or even Haemonculus as better HQ choices for DE.

Overall, the Archon just isn't killy enough to justify the relative expense. The Baron is cheap and has great synergy with Beastpack and others. The Duke can join a Warrior blob and wreak havoc. The Haemy is, well, cheap.

I use the Archon with this loadout (minus the Venom Blade...but that's a good idea!) in almost every game, and have been pretty happy with him (although not as happy as in 5th).

I'm in a league where I know the mission and the opponent, and list tailoring is encouraged....you know the mission, you know the enemy, prepare accordingly.

Against Marines...I put him with 5 Incubi. If I have enough points, I throw a Haemonculi in the Raider as well to start with a Pain Token.

Against anything else...I put him with normal Wyches (and a Haemonculi if I have the points). I'll go with Wyches every time over Bloodbrides. I don't think the special weapons are worth the points, and I want as many scoring units as possible on the field.

These lists live or die by the Shadow Field saves.

I surprised no one mentioned Incubis...

Incubi works better in 6ed IMO due to the 3+ armour save and now their klaives are AP2.

It's virtually a mini-deathstar w/o the usual deathstar cost.

The issue with Incubi is that when you factor in the necessary transport and attached character, they do cost as much as a deathstar. The drawback is that they are incredibly fragile and are incredibly specialized (anti-MEQ).

In contrast, units like a Beastpack or Halies are both faster, more durable, and can deal with more threats.

I think you're too harsh on Incubi, they are effective at putting down terminators w/o SS and are flexible enough to deal with small group sof GEQ, they are certainly not as good as beastpacks.

Well, Wyches, Bloodbrides, and Incubi are all valid choices. I prefer Wyches or Bloodbrides as they have combat drugs and an invulnerable save.

You could also let her go solo if she is in range of an enemy unit that she can deal with.
