I like to run off-norm lists and lists have have a narrative, but still can be competitive, and was wondering if anyone has used a legion squad since 6th came out, im really curious as to how they will play, i would think they would be fairly devastating with that 3++ save and SaP.

Please visit my Trade Thread I'm always looking for something and usually have something up for trade.
6th Ed WDL: SM:25-1-10 I think I am actually decent at 6th

Don't forget they have a 3+ invulnerable, so they'll last twice as long as a Space Marine, and can sometimes survive epic instant death weapons. If the world was perfect, and a LoTD squad was caught in a blast instant death weapon, 7 would be alive. They also have two attacks, and some nice special rules.

Basically, they are amped up Tacticals, amped to the logical max. They also look nice (which is important) and have nice fluff, which is always good.

By bolter and honour, by blood and fire, we shall cleanse this galaxy. By Vulkan, and by the Emperor, CHARGE!

Yo Dawgs, I heard you like grimdark, so I put grimdark in yo grimdark in yo grimdark in yo universe that is obviously grimdark.

The thing which usually kill Space Marines, volume of fire, doesn't care about the invulnerable saves, and when they roll that 1-2 they lose twice as many points as a tactical squad.

They weren't a good unit in 5th, they're not a good unit in 6th, and they compete with the cream of the Space Marine crop, terminators, sternguard and dreadnoughts.

They do have nice models, but I wouldn't take them.

I find passive aggressive messages in people's signatures quite amusing.

They weren't good in 5th, and they're worse in 6th with the change to rapid fire. Now everyone in the Marine codex can move and shoot 24" instead of just relentless models. They're barely any more dangerous than a tac squad, and that 3+ save just means people won't target with plasma and AP3 as much, but they die just as easily to lasguns, bolters, shootas, and other volume of fire weapons. They've got great models, but I'd honestly just run them as Sternguard instead since they're more dangerous that way.
