So I am going to play a game, and I have an extra about 150 pts left. Should I spend it on a Pred Annhilator (I already have a Pred Destructor) or a Vindicator?

I'd go for the awesome firepower of the Vindicator myself, as long as I had some disposable transports to screen it with while it gets into range. Nothing like wiping out a squad of Terminators with one blast, is there?

Vindicator all the way. That cannon is a BOSS! It's a durable mid range beat stick, there's just not a lot that can stand up to the blast, especially with Sargent Cronus (or whatever his name is).

They both have their perks. How much long range fire do you have? AA? If those are covered, go with the vindi. If not, take the pred.

Like nevelo said it depends what you need in your list. I like vindicators myself cause they put the fear of god into people like nothing else. But the preds can be really good to.

Vindi's outshine Pred's in killing Hordes and Vehicles, but the Preds are better at killing MC's.

It all depends on what role you need filled.

I'd go for the pred. Multi-shot high-strength weapons have been better than single shot splat cannons for years now, and 6th ed did nothing to change that.

Horde armies can displace, and cover saves on small numbers leads to heartbreak. The vindi does have a few tiny things going for it (IDing T5, for example), but the pred is going to be better against most targets most of the time.

If you need a specific reason, then consider what a pred can do to fliers, when compared to the fact that the vindi can't even shoot at them.

I'd go Predator. I like the Vindi, however if you have 1 pred a second will just make the list stronger.

While I agree with you (and prefer the pred myself) it's not quite true that 6th didn't do anything for pie plates. In 5th, you were only half strength against vehicles unless you were under the hole. Now as long as the plate covers part of you, you eat the S10 hit. This makes the vindi a lot nastier then before. Randomizing weapon destroyed results also helped the vindi out a lot. And sometimes forcing you opponent into a dispersed deployment is a good thing. It makes it harder for them to stay in cover, and can keep parts of them out of rapid fire range.

9 times out of 10, you can swap out a vindicator for an auto/las pred freely. They fill a very similar role. The Vindi is more specialized, but works better in those situations. The Predator is generic. It does more things, but you will never get to take that large blast and slap it down on the table; just solid, reliable firepower for the length of the game.

Predator is much more versatile, vindicators are usually huge targets because of their insanely strong weapon, but good players rarely fear them. Predator gives you more flexibility and utility.

I am not a very experienced player (have played 5 games in the last 5 or so years), but:

I have two Vindicators. I like to use them as the large blast and high strength means they're good against most enemy models (and can lead to opponents hiding more rather than advancing, for cover). Because of this I also find they make good fire magnets, as opponents find them scary, so it distracts fire from the rest of my force.

I don't have a Predator. From my (limited) experiences with my Land Raider, however, I have had problems getting the Land Raider to shoot both its sponsors (against vehicles and MCs in particular, it can be hard to get line of sight from both sponsons as the tank is so wide). This will probably be less of an issue for a Predator but something to bear in mind.
