I have been seriously considering turning my Autarch into a Prince & my guardians into a corsair squad... is it worth it? I could potentially be deep-striking Wraithlords and Fire Dragons into the enemy's deployment zone after all! Still...

I would appreciate your opinion on allying and on corsairs in general. Thanks!

Not much point to it since the Corsair army list doesn't really have much that an Eldar army needs. It's probably more powerful, but as allies to a standard Eldar core it's really just more of what you already have. I guess if you need to add some extra FOC slots it's not a bad idea, but I have a feeling you can probably do better with another army as allies.

On the other hand a Corsair core with Eldar allies can be a good idea. The Corsair list gives you a solid base with units that are better than their codex equivalents, but you still get access to the codex specialists (and even DE units!).

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

To me the prince & his abilities for a mere 100 points seems like the biggest draw. Less transports & more points to spend elsewhere

As peregrine said, it is certainly a good idea the other way around, and I believe taking Corsair alies could help your army (perhaps not as much as DE allies). The Corsair list gives you one very important thing, good troops as well as the Corsair Prince who provides lots of utility and will add some punch to a CC squad (good luck with finding one as Eldar). So, yes, its worth it, especially so at higher point games and makes your army more unique, which is nice.

Thats good advice so thank-you! I am considering allies and the corsairs are close enough to eldar that I could convert back and forth as needed thats why they are so appealing, plus being able to deep-strike harlequins or fire dragons or even wraithlords and tanks into the enemy backfield seems awesome!
