Here is a converted storm trooper I am currently working on. It isn't the best picture to see it, but I did use Tau fire warrior legs and they worked out well.

Johnno is spot on. All I did was find two legs with approximately the same pose then snipped right above the guard boot and right below the fire warrior knee pad then glue. No green stuff required. The only ones I have problems with are the crouching legs which I am just ignoring.
