I'm currently assembling one, and I have a rules question: do I have to have it on its legs? Or, can I just field it flat? There are pros and cons to doing this. Pros are enemy models who get in close can't hide under it, and cons are my shooty units won't have as high of a vantage point for shooting. I'd say its a trade off. Is this legal?

If there's more pros and cons I'm missing, please tell me. Another reason why I'm thinking of fielding it without legs is, I don't know about everyone else's kit, but I think mine were slightly miscast (the two parts that make up each leg don't fit well together; one side is about a fraction of an inch longer than the other, so I'd have to do some cutting)

I would actully like it more if it was lower so that models couldnt fit underneath it. Its a pain playing it like it is stock. If you get in a tourny and want to use it it would be up to the TO. A lot of TOs arnt even allowing it in tournaments anyway becasue it can cause hassles with models underneath and the rules are poorly defined. So..... from my perspective. Yes remodel it lower so models cant fit under it.. either right on the ground or about an inch up where it gives the look of a pad but wont give you the problems of a two layer nonwrecking terrain piece.

I would say MFA using it without the lets, I have used it in one game and it really restricts your LOS both across it and more importantly shooting at enemy units close to it.

And again restricting enemy units moving underneath it is MFA imo, and you would be able to put a objective underneath it so you would be claiming it on a remodeled skyshield, I wouldnt let you use one against me with shorter legs

Objectives can't be placed within 3" of a fortification. But, I see your point.

If you don't use the Gw objective markers and just use a empty base, then they fit nicely under it. There is no 3" rule for objectives.

You can't place an objective on impassible terrain, a building or fortification. but under is fine
