Greetings everyone. It seems the initiation ritual is to post an introduction including what I play and what I have. I don't have a Camera right now, so I'll just include descriptions of what I have. When I get access to a Camera, if people are interested I'll post pictures of my models.
If you haven't guessed by the name, I play Warhammer 40k, Eldar. And for lack of a better name and an odd joy out of writing fluff, I've named this profile after my Farseer of my Craftworld Altansar Force (2200+ pts).
I got out of playing 40k around the 4E Chaos Codex when I played Emperor's Children, which I no longer have. A bunch of my friends here in Missouri, USA play 40k and they talked me into starting an army toward the end of 5th Ed (About a year ago). Before buying anything, I bounced around a few Armies and did some research on Fluff. I like to build armies by latching onto a piece of Fluff and building from there. I settled on Eldar because I wanted something that was going to force me to play tactically and be unforgiving if I didn't. I picked Craftworld Altansar because there wasn't much fluff, so I could be creative, and I had an established direction to go into when I painted them. I intend to eventually build my Eldar into an Apocalpyse force, owning at least one of every squad and both Titans. But that's a long way off. I also have a secondary Tau Dal'yth Cadre (~600pts) Ally Force that I started building when I lost the reliable ability to tackle an AV14 with a Witchblade. I plan on expanding that into a full Army, probably around the time of my birthday when (last I checked) rumors state that the Codex will be released.
As for aesthetically, I don't consider myself that good at painting, as painting my Eldar is the first army I have painted. Currently both of my armies are still a works in progress. I purchased an Aegis Defense line recently and still need ideas on how to convert it into a Tau-Defense Line. I already sanded off all of the Imperial Aquilas, I'm looking to convert the Quad-Gun into... I dunno, quad-Rail Rifles (the Pathfinder issue guns)? However all of this is on hold as I am currently working on a commission, I am painting a friend's first tabletop army of Hive Fleet Kraken. I don't have any photo's of any of these yet, because if I did, the first thing I would do is replace my place-holder Icon with a picture of my customized Farseer. As for customizing, most of my work is just bit swapping but I have made a few attempts at working in green stuff, which have not been impressive. My favorite green stuff projects are converting D&D models (usually Elf-Mages) into Warlocks just for practice and I have this plan to (as a joke) convert a Shadowseer into Tali'Zorah from Mass Effect. I've gotten favorable reviews from my one of my earliest works, a Customized "Dire-Avenger Exarch" Wraithlord, but that was really just a poorly executed Trojan-hair attachment on the head, and a decently executed conversion of the sword into an Dire Avenger Exarch' spear. Though don't think I've got a ton of modding initiative. I usually end up modding something because my pet Cat is a Jerk and decided to break a model, so now I have to get creative to fix it.
When I'm not playing/painting 40k or video games, I occasionally play Pen and Paper RPG's. I will reference these from time to time, as I often tell all new 40k painters to "Take 20 on your painting."
Alright, Introductions aside, The main reason that I joined this Forum is because I want to crowd source some fluff and see what people think, but I'll probably just start a different threat for that.

Welcome aboard, Farseer Morlengal!
Post up some pics of your minis, even if you don't consider yourself "that good at painting", since there are plenty of awesome painters on this forum with blogs/tutorials on improving your technique (if you want to, that is)...
Otherwise, get some of your fluff posted to get the opinions of this large and divergent community here on Dakka. I'm more than happy to have a read and give a constructive opinion.
Laters!
