Hey I heard of a product called dettol and was wondering if anyone has found it in the states, if not simple green should do fine.

Wherever and whenever they appear they leave only destruction in their wake; they are the Lords of Death, Bringers of War. The Dark Angels.

is it as effective or more so, i painted up some CSM and they look horrid i was quite upset at how they turned out. Simple green is my old favorite and it smells good.

I've heard Dettol is a UK/EU thing mostly. I've also heard people swear by Dot 3 brake fluid, research it a bit more though, not sure how it will react with minis(like exposure time, ect.)

Dettol, specifically, is not available in the US...at least not readily. There are several comparable products in the US - Provon and Maxiclean are two which come to mind. Both are common commercial antibacterial soaps. The consistency is a bit different, but the active ingredients are very similar.

I don't think it is really worth the effort though to track those down when compared to any number of products which strip paint as well or better than Dettol.

I've heard if you leave it too long it will, also why I suggested looking up others experiences using it. "I'd do a trial run" first, then go from there.

Simple Green, Mean Green (caustic, but safe on plastics), Purple Power (caustic, but safe on plastics), LA's Totally Awesome, Clorox Green Works Multisurface.

Most of these options are readily available at any Walmart, Kmart, Dollar General, etc.

Pick your poison, forget about Dettol. As already mentioned, it's UK specific.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

Just use LA's totally awesome, Its only $1 for a quart of it and when used strait it strips plastic models without hurting them at all, I've even used it on some finecasts without problems.

I've found it in dollar stores all over. Looks like this http://www.lastotallyawesome.com/
