Subject: GW Spray gun... connecting it to a compressor...

Hi everyone, time ago, not being familair all too much with painting and airbrushing I bought one of those gamesworkshop sprayguns, with the bottled air its a bloody nightmare. Soon I replaced it with a proper airbrush with a small compressor. However I am now interested in actually connecting the spray gun to the compressor for the purpose of spraying large terrain boards.
Anyone have any experience with this and succesfully replaced connector parts etc?

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

He already did. He wants it for larger jobs, if I'm not mistaken?
Sadly I can't add anything actually constructive, as I have no experience with it.
(edit)
Actually, with my cheapo no-name airbrush that had no connector info, I brought it into my local Hobbytown and they were fantastic about figuring out how to get it onto the hose my compressor came with. If you have one close by, highly recommended.

I've done the same thing with my cheap compressor (from machine mart about £70 quid) you need to get a connector to fit or more easily get a braded hose as likely to have the larger and also will give greater hose length.

Keep the pressure low on it. I'd worry about it at a higher pressure.

Easiest way to deal with these issues is just to wander into the local hardware store with your airbrush in tow (and possibly compressor if you don't know what fitting that uses either).
Find the plumbing department and poke around in the brass fittings section till you find what you need - or if you are lucky enough to have a hardware store that has the old retired plumber who works there...just show it to him. Listen to his story (they seem to always have a story that they want to tell), and be on your way.

Firstly, you are correct that the GW thing is a spray gun and not an airbrush.
Secondly, I wouldn't connect it with the hose that came with it. Get a decen braided hose that will take the pressure.
(Given what GW give you for your money, I suspect that they skimped on the quality of the hose supplied. It will be OK for use with aircans, but the higher pressure available with a compressor could cause it to fail prematurely.)

Correct, after a learning curve of a year and painting a couple of hundreds of models (3 complete armies, IG, SM and Daemons) I have now gotten to the point that I don't like the way I painted my 4 by 10 foot gaming table. So now with as a guide some of the forums posts and the forgeworld modelling books in hand Im going to retexture and paint my table. Thought the spraygun would come in handy for covering the initial large areas so i could follow up detailing with my airbrush. The nozzle of the paintgun freezes up within 5 minutes with the pressurized air.
Besides the main subject, I think it is borderline criminal for them to sell that piece of gak. From a company point of view I think its really bad marketing. If you are going to sell overpriced gear from your shop, fine, nobody is forced to buy it, but at least sell a quality product.
