Hello my name is Alex im 14 and live in the Uk and well my friend introduced me into WH40k so I played a couple of sm vs orks at his house with his models back in 5th and I had my eyes on necrons. So me being cautious where my money goes and got a 1.5k necron list from Warseer forums and played with paper cut outs my friend as the corn codex something to do with him etting for free or something like that ca not remember xD And I did not really like them so my friend been playing since he was 11 was quite patient with me so I tried 2 more lists and I just said in the end I really do not like how they play I had was 6th edition game with the last list and that made me hate necrons even more..... So now I have my eyes on tau and csm and will probably be trying them out soon.

Yea you guessed it I do honestly not know how to tell my parents before you think just tell them..... THAT WILL NOT WORK
My dad being a soldier for 25 years is very authoritative and wont let the thing fly same with my mum my mum was not happy when I played AQ when I was 9 lol
So if any of you where ever in a similar situation how did you make the thing fly... or should I wait a couple of years?

Hmmm... The only proper advice I can give you - and you may not like this - is to listen to your parents. :(

Yeah, yeah - I know, that's probably not exactly the advice you were after. I am a parent myself (aaaargh!) and have a 14 year old and we certainly don't always see eye-to-eye when it comes to what she can and can't do.

However, parents usually have their reasons and it should always be with the best intentions towards the child. I suppose it stems from the natural instinct to protect your offspring.

Maybe you could try being honest and talking to them about it, or maybe you need to wait a few years, as you say. Only you know which is the best option for you.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful! It's very difficult to give decent advice in these situations. Ultimately, as hard as it can be sometimes, you have to respect your parents.

Try explaining to them why its important for you but like chilledmonkeybrains said i think you may have to wait a few years when you are on a more even footing with your parents

I agree with ChilledMonkeyBrains, and I have no children. There's no harm in asking, but you'll enjoy the hobby a lot less if they say no but you proceed anyway, as it's not really something that you can do sneakily at home.

tell them it'll keep you off the street and away from the "bad" crowd. certainly worked for me on both levels, 1. me being able to buy/collect, and 2. it literally keep me off the street and out of trouble....and 3.
