I'm planning on running an OM inquisitor with terminator armor, a psycannon, and the psyker upgrade. He will be running with a terminator squad for psycannon rerolls. Now my question is should I run him with the daemonhammer or the force sword?

Take the hammer. The only advantage of the sword is striking at initiative, and on a S3 model, it's not worth it. The hammer is AP2, S6 for the inquisitor, and STILL a force weapon.

Well I'm still a bit torn. The terminators roll will be mainly shooting and be a tough scoring unit. I won't be charging anything with a 2+ if I can help it. Additionally wouldn't 4 s 4 (with hammerhand) i4 ap3 attacks with rerolls be safer than going at the same initiative as something that will no doubt one shot me? I'm terrible at math hammer so I could be very wrong.

Don't accept a challenge from anything that can punch through terminator armour. Let the Justicar do that. Anything that's pretty scary is likely not afraid of 3 force sword attacks from an Inquisitor anyways. In terminator armour, no option to take a pistol makes the hammer difficult to contest. The advantages of the hammer are legion, the only one the sword has is being I4. If it only has a 3+ save and is attacking with unwieldy, the Justicar should be taking the challenge.

If it's something that can crunch terminator armour, the Justicar will probably be S5 and striking at I6 to beat it out or possessed of a 4++. Then you can throw the hammer from the Inquisitor into the bodyguard. The fact that there are Terminators hanging around means that you'll have plenty of room to work with before worrying about the inquisitor. Don't just evaluate the model in a vacuum, consider the squad it's with. Since you're running as a shooting unit that's only effective in midfield, you will not have a choice about fighting the 2+ save CC unit.
