So I was watching the video on YouTube with Adam Troke talking about the new hobbit sbg, he said you can use the rules alongside lotr figures, dies this mean I can put the goblin king in a Moria list? Or use the goblins alongside Moria goblins?
I'm thinking if getting back into the game, but this has slightly confused me.

Not sure about the lists, wether the Moria goblins and the Hobbit Goblins are two separate "armies" or not. But the rules are the same and the points calculations are the same in The Hobbit and LotR. So it's definitely possible as a house rule if you wish.

My bad: it turns out that there are no points in the boxed game only stats for the figures. The small rulebook mentions points, but they are not in it. I suppose they are in the fat rulebook.

In the Hobbit SBG you have Armies & Allies.

In the Hobbit SBG rulebook its has Points values for all of the hobbit Mini-s released and a few that are in the film (Dwarfs / elfs) and Statlines for all units for LOTR (no points)

To use the Other Armies (Men, Rohan, Elves, Mordor etc) you need the Sourcebook (The Free peoples, Angmar & Moria etc) and the Hobbit Rulebook.

There are rules for using Both Hobbit and LOTR in the same game.

Your moria goblins would be allied with goblin town goblins as they are two seperate armies

I don't think they have lists for the Hobbit units yet?

Are any of the LotR profiles actually different? Had a chance to compare the Angmar profiles in the Hobbit book to the ones in the source book and didn't notice any changes. Didn't have time to compare all of the Moria profiles, but the ones I did look at were also unchanged. Also, despite the wording in the FAQ, I didn't see any point values listed - let alone changed ones - for the old LotR forces, just the new Hobbit stuff.

As i've only recently got back into LOTR (started with the hobbit) i have yet to own all the sourcebooks to confirm this.

My wording on my post is incorrect, There are NO POINT VALUES for Lord of the rings minitures in the BRB only Statlines, wich Games Workshop says have been updated hence why they are in the Rulebook, I dont know if only one or two statlines or even stats are differant for an entire sourcebook or if everyone is updated. Only point values in the book are for the Hobbit minitures

Some are different, Gandalf the grey for example does not have options for horse or cart in Hobbit, however did in the free people's book. One thing to note is that models that are listed in he hobbit are supposed to be replacements for like named models in the sourcebooks. This would mean that Gandalf shouldn't get the old options anymore, however I can still see reasons to have both profiles enabled as a later aged gandalf themed for the fellowship should have he horse and or cart as an option.

OK, so there are some changes (is your auto-correct making "vandals" out of Gandalf?), just none to my chosen army. At least they didn't just say that in FAQ to make you buy the BRB. They actually did that to make you buy it, which I guess is better

Yes and fixed, thanks for pointing that out.
