Halo Reach Generator Defense
McFarlane Toys
Overall size: approx 5.5" h x 5" dia.
Top section: approx 2.25" h x 4.25" dia
Bottom section: approx 2.75" h x 5" dia.
An awesome piece of terrain to be found in the toy section of your local pharmacy, McFarlane Toy's Halo Reach Generator Defense is perfect for any sci-fi miniature setting! Comes packaged in six parts: top section, bottom section and four feet plates, this set can be left apart as two different buildings or combined into the tower shown here.
The pieces snap together quite easily and no glue is needed. I forgot to measure the top section's height before connecting them and they are connected pretty solid. Don't want to risk pulling them apart so its best to decide if you want them assembled or separate first.
The top section has a sliding "sleeve" that protects the generator section, which you could leave down or glue up as you see fit. Pre-painted, it looks really good right out of the box - passable weathering and some cool warning decals. The generator coils themselves are just basecoated a yellow - I'll be repainting mine. Also, the radar dish is pretty lame on the inside and looks like its missing a piece. Some plastic grid would be an easy way to fix it up.
Overall, I give it an 8 / 10 - a 10/10 for value as I was able to find it on sale for just $9.99 USD!!! MSRP was $14.99 so don't get ripped off on Amazon - just head down to your local pharmacy / toy store and snatch one up quick!

Got mine at Rite Aid out here on the left coast. Just went back and bought the last one! At $9.99, the price is awesome and you get a Halo Spartan JFO figure too!

As a fun note, you should check out the "Micro Ops" stuff...
Crash pods anyone?
How about an Ariadnan border post?
Here's a scale shot for a good idea as to how the stuff is:
According to the chap whose blog that is from, the terrain can work for 15mm to 28mm, but the figures are closer to 25mm.

Woot, Snagged two at the 9.99 price from Rite-Aid. They should work fantastic And thanks a ton for posting this up! Automatically Appended Next Post: REALLY happy with how these came out for the next to no work I did on them. Glued the chambers in place, did a 5 min repaint on the yellow, scrapped of the decals and microsoft labeling, and put some painting plasticard in the radars.
Ignore the wood glue drying in the screw holes. When fully dry those will be painting in black/gray to blend.
Thanks a million Swan! Also, I ordered up a set of those drop pods Kan. I'll post up scale pics when they get in.

Haha that was the great part, it's not that I worked fast but rather that they needed so little work lol. The plasticard is just a cutup for sale sign. I primed it black then hit it with gray while I had a mesh circle pattern over it.

Yeah, I came upon them yesterday at Toys R'Us, but they were 39$ (couple that with our 15% taxes... it was way too expensive for essentially a Spartan I wasn't going to use.
