In this 1750 BAO test match, Dan busts out his Crons against Frankie’s Death guard.

Pretty interesting result.

Have to say, still a fan of Plague Marines this edition and Typhus is most certainly a beast when it is all said and done.

Good battle report, liked the format you guys did, but man the Necron player's tactics were....bad...he was thoroughly outmatched.
Pretty good Chaos list too.

Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum.

Glad you guys enjoyed it!

Plaguemarines are still the Bee's Knees. They are rock solid and with the addition of Plague Knives, and no cost for the squad leader, they are still the best Cult troop, IMO.

Dan had a pretty solid list, but yeah, his tactics were a little weak. He is still pretty new to 6th though, and Frankie is really experienced which definitely played a factor.

Very good report I was surprised to see how well Chaos did this game. I'm not so sure about the Monolith I think it was a huge point sink that in the end held him back.

Yeah, I am not a fan of the monolith, either, to be honest. I don't think they're bad, just not nearly as good as some of the other choices in heavy support.

The CSM player did a good job with his list and tactics. I honestly think the Necron list was very bad and tactics meh. In our local gaming group Necrons rule the boards. Many play 1-2 units of deathmarks with crypteks with the flamer AP2 templates. Which pretty much means 2 units are going to die. With guass weapons being able to glance everything to death, I think they are king of of 6th right now. I like the new Chaos codex, but I don't think it is broken. Good things with it and bad, but nothing really broken, the closest to it is how cheap the bikes are.

Thanks for the bat rep and video. Cheers and keep them coming.

Biggest thing to remember about the fliers is that they measure the distance moved from the front of the hull. Also if the scythe moves over 24 then the unit can only snapshot(so no template goodness from the cryptek)

So it comes on 24, front is about 2 inches from the base, they deploy out 6, so that puts them 28ish inches up the board. So if you don't advance, and then target the deathmark fliers its not so bad.

People who stopped buying GW but wont stop bitching about it are the vegans of warhammer

Monoliths can work well for the right builds. It is just that flyer spam is very popular now so we don't see them much.

Glad you guys enjoyed the report!

Flyers also can't shoot straight down, that is something a lot of folks miss. They have a 45 degree cone coming out of the barrel of their weapons and so, they can only shoot things that are a ways in front of them, further reducing the area of the board they can effect.
